Over the past month, the girls' football varsity team has officially started the season. So far, they have played two games. The results are as follows:

March 12th YK Pao vs. SUIS GB:
Results: 0-5 Loss
The girl’s football varsity team embarked on a challenging start to their season, playing their first match against SUIS Gubei, the champion of the previous season. Despite the team competing aggressively, they faced a formidable challenge in the form of their fierce adversary, and unfortunately ended in a 0-5 loss. The defeat to Gubei was a valuable experience for the team to understand the gap between potential finals opponents, providing the team with invaluable insights to enhance their performance throughout the remainder of the season.
Words from Mr. Smith:
In a challenging match against a formidable opponent, our team faced a tough 5-0 loss. Despite the disappointing result, Mr Smith identified key areas for improvement in position play and ball movement from the back to the front.
The match highlighted the importance of maintaining proper positioning on the field and creating passing options to advance the ball efficiently. Moving forward, the team will only get stronger and learn from these experiences.
Player of the Match: Candy Deng #5
Despite a loss against the robust opponent, Candy Deng, playing Center Back, demonstrated her strength in defense as she repeatedly stole the ball from opponents and intercepted their long passes. As a defender, she provides strong shielding to the team and protects the team from further shootings.

"In a thrilling football match, the girl’s team showcased their prowess by storming to a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half, displaying exceptional teamwork and brilliant footballing skills. The game took a dramatic turn in a frenetic 10-minute spell in the second half as the visiting team clawed their way back into contention with two quick goals, and a dangerous free-kick that almost scored. However, YK Pao soon regained their composure and sealed the victory with a decisive goal in the last minuet of the match. Utlimately triumphing 4-2. The result not only secured the win but also provided a valuable opportunity for all players to gain confidence and valuable experience in a competitive game setting.
The match was a testament to the resilience and skill of YK Pao, who demonstrated their ability to emerge victorious in the face of adversity. Moving on, the team would reflect from shortcomings in the match and will further improve on their football skills."

Player of the Match: Amy Geng #10
Amy Geng’s agility in ball control and her ability to coordinate offenses greatly helped the team to constantly push forward and place high pressure on the opposing team. She was also able to perform a Hat-trick, scoring three consecutive goals, ultimately bringing the team to a win.
