Last week the boys’ volleyball team had two friendly home games with GHCIS and SUIS WY on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. The team secured two wins, both with the overall score of 2-0.
Congratulations to the boys!
The game on Tuesday against GHCIS was the first game the boys’ volleyball team has played this year. With new blood joining in, the younger players cooperated well with the seniors even under a limited amount of practices.
All players played aggressively and actively, contributing to the ultimate win with a score of 9:25 for the first game and 18:25 for the second.
With the game experience gained from the match against GHCIS, the boys managed to keep up the communication and collaboration on the court on thursday when playing against SUIS WY even when the coach is absent. Despite facing adversities such as new players’ unfamiliarities with the rotations and misjudgments from the ref Mr. Junard, the boys still took the win after winning the second game with a slight advantage of 25:22.

Overall, the boys have gained precious experience from these two games especially for new players who have just joined the team this year. New players such as Clark Bai(Y10) and Forest Wu(Y11) exhibited great potentials on the court, and other old players like Alex Tang(Y11) helped the team to build a solid foundation. We hope the team can advance further and continue to prepare for the upcoming volleyball season in the second semester.
