Describe a person who always has strong opinions.

You should say:

Who this person is

How you knew him/her

Why you think he/her is an opinionated person

And explain how you feel about him/her

I’m going to talk about my classmate, Lily, who is known for having very strong opinions. She’s in my grade, and we’ve been classmates since middle school. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know her quite well, especially through group projects and discussions in class.

Lily is someone who never hesitates to speak her mind. Whether we’re in a debate competition or just discussing daily topics, she always has a clear stance on things and insists on explaining her reasons in great detail. For example, during a group project about environmental issues, she was very firm about including certain ideas and rejected others that she didn’t agree with, even though some of us thought they were good suggestions.

I think Lily is an opinionated person because she’s very confident in her beliefs and rarely changes her mind, no matter how much others try to persuade her. She’s also very outspoken in class, often raising her hand to challenge the teacher’s points or express her own ideas. Some classmates admire her for her courage, while others find her a bit too stubborn.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about Lily. On the one hand, I admire her passion and confidence. She’s definitely a leader in many ways, and she inspires me to think critically and express my own opinions. On the other hand, working with her in group projects can sometimes be difficult because she tends to dominate the conversation and dismiss alternative ideas. Overall, though, I think having someone like Lily in class makes discussions more interesting and lively.

 Part 3

What aspects do young people have strong opinions about?

Young people often have strong opinions about social issues, technology, and personal identity. They are vocal about topics like climate change, gender equality, and mental health awareness because they feel these issues directly affect their future. Additionally, they have distinct preferences regarding fashion trends, entertainment, and the latest technology, often debating about the "best" apps, devices, or games. This confidence in expressing opinions can stem from their exposure to diverse viewpoints on social media, where they engage in discussions and debates frequently.

What aspects do old people have strong opinions about?

Older people tend to have strong opinions about traditions, values, and social norms. They often emphasize the importance of maintaining cultural practices and may critique younger generations for deviating from these customs. Additionally, they might have firm views about politics, healthcare, and financial planning, as these issues directly impact their quality of life. Their life experiences shape these opinions, making them more resistant to changing their perspectives compared to younger people.

Are children’s opinions influenced by their parents?

Yes, children’s opinions are heavily influenced by their parents, especially at a young age. Parents play a key role in shaping a child’s values, beliefs, and attitudes. For instance, children often adopt their parents' perspectives on topics like religion, education, or lifestyle choices. However, as they grow older and gain exposure to peers, teachers, and media, their views may start to differ, even if the foundation was set by their parents. Nonetheless, parental influence remains significant in areas like decision-making and moral judgment.
