国庆节 (Guóqìng Jié) is a day to commemorate the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. It's a significant time for unity and celebration among the Chinese people.
The holiday kicks off a week-long celebration known as "Golden Week," (黄金周 Huángjīn zhōu), during which many people travel, participate in festivities, and enjoy time off work.
