On Saturday, 11 Jan., The University of Manchester China Centre buzzed with excitement as the welcome event for the Manchester Global Part-time MBA Jan. 2025 cohort kicked off. New students gathered with enthusiasm, ready to embark on their two-year Global MBA journey.
This year’s cohort boasts impressive statistics: an average age of 39, with 15 years of work experience and 8 years of managerial experience on average. Women constitute 58% of the class, and 60% of the students hold a bachelor's degree, 40% of them have a master's degree or above.
These students come from varied industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, electronics, real estate, renewable energy, and chemicals, with 27% from the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
Additionally, 82% hold managerial positions or higher, seeking to transform their careers through enhanced leadership and strategic thinking, becoming global leaders with cross-cultural management skills and social responsibility.
At the beginning of the event, Ms. Sherry Fu delivered a welcome speech, expressing the China Centre's expectations for the students. She highlighted the University's legacy of excellence and innovation in education and research. Fu encouraged the new students to embrace the MBA programme’s core teaching philosophy of "original thinking applied," preparing them to face future challenges with new perspectives and skills.
Following the opening speech, the Student Support Team from China Centre introduced the student support service to the new students, focusing strongly on blended learning. This approach offers flexible online study in parallel with face-to-face workshops to ensure busy working professionals get the most out of their studies.
