12月3日，中国驻墨尔本总领馆与澳中友协维州分会共同举办2024“中国语言文化优秀学生奖”颁奖仪式。房新文总领事、陈小冬副总领事、澳中友协维州分会主席拉斐特等友人、澳高校中文教师协会代表单春明、维州中文教师协会主席徐纪兴等教师代表、来自墨尔本大学等5所大学获奖学生及“汉语桥”比赛获奖学生等60余人出席。

房总领事在致辞中向15名获奖学生表示祝贺，指出汉语是打开中华文明宝库的宝贵钥匙、丰富拓展人生的机遇之门和连接中澳的重要桥梁。中国提出构建人类命运共同体等理念，正以进一步全面深化改革推进中国式现代化，必将为世界提供更多机遇。房总领事向长期致力于促进澳中友好事业的澳中友协维州分会及在维州推广汉语和中国文化的老师们表示衷心感谢。房总领事并介绍了中国签证便利化政策，勉励同学们加强汉语学习，多到中国走一走、看一看，为促进中澳友好贡献青春力量。拉斐特主席、单春明老师在致辞中表示，中国是澳大利亚第一大贸易伙伴，两国关系日益紧密，双方开展友好合作顺应时代主流。语言是跨文化交流的重要桥梁，世界上越来越多的人开始学习汉语，希望同学们保持汉语学习热情，争做中澳民间友好使者。![]()

Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne Holds the 2024 “ Chinese Language and Culture Awards ” Ceremony
On 3rd December, Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne held the 2024 “Chinese Language and Culture Awards” Ceremony. Mr. Xinwen Fang, Chinese Consul General, Mr. Xiaodong Chen, Deputy Chinese Consul General, Mr. Lev Lafayette, President of the Australia-China Friendship Society Victorian Branch, Mr. Chunming Shan, representative of Australian Tertiary Chinese Teachers Association, Mr. Jixing Xu, President of Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria, award-winning students from the Melbourne University, Monash University, La Trobe University, Deakin University and RMIT University, and “Chinese Language Bridge” winners attended the ceremony. Consul General Fang congratulated the 15 awarded students in his speech and pointed out that Chinese is a key to open the treasure of Chinese civilization，a door to opportunities that enrich and expand life and an important bridge connecting China and Australia. China has proposed the concept of "A Global Community of Shared Future",is now further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese Modernization, providing more opportunities for the whole world. Consul General Fang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the the Australia-China Friendship AssociationVictorian branch, which has been committed to promoting the friendship between Australia and China, and the teachers who have been promoting Chinese language and Chinese culture in Victoria. Consul General Fang also introduced China's visa facilitation policy and encouraged the students to strengthen their Chinese language learning, visit China more often, and contribute to promoting China-Australia friendship. Mr. Lev Lafayette, Mr. Chunming Shan said that China is Australia's largest trading partner. The two countries have maintained the increasing ties year by year. The mutually beneficial and friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries is the mainstream of the times. Language builds important bridges for cross-cultural communication. More and more people in the world begin to learn Chinese. It is hoped that the Australia students could keep passion on Chinese learning and become ambassadors of friendship between China and Australia.During the ceremony, students sang Chinese popular songs as "Olive Trees", "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau", "Sweet Honey" and "Girl, Look Over Here", which received warm applause from the attendees.
