Consul General Fang Xinwen Attends Victoria's Commemoration of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's 158th Birthday
On November 9, Consul General Fang Xinwen attended a commemorative event held by the Chinese community in Victoria to mark the 158th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
In his speech, Consul General Fang paid heartfelt tribute to Dr. Sun’s remarkable life dedicated to the independence of the Chinese nation, social progress, and the well-being of the people, highly praised Dr. Sun for his enduring contributions to the leadership of China’s modern democratic revolution. Consul General Fang reflected on the Chinese Communist Party's efforts to carry forward Dr. Sun’s legacy and its arduous journey in leading the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to heroic struggles and great achievements. He reaffirmed China’s firm stance and resolute determination in safeguarding national unity.
During the event, Consul General Fang also presented a carved mahogany statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen to the event’s organizing committee as a gesture of respect and commemoration.
