Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian Attends the Reception in Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of President Xi Jinping's Visit to Tasmania and the Establishment of China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
On October 30, the reception in celebration of the 10th anniversary of president Xi Jinping's visit to Tasmania and the establishment of China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was held in Hobart. More than 200 people attended the reception, including Chinese Ambassador Xiao Qian, Premier of Tasmania Jeremy Rockliff, Chinese Consul–General to Melbourne Fang Xinwen and representatives of the Chinese community and people from all walks of life in Tasmania.
Ambassador Xiao Qian delivered a speech, revisited the historic moments of President Xi Jinping's visit to Australia in 2014, particularly his itinerary in Tasmania, reviewed the achievements of the two countries in various fields of pragmatic cooperation over the past decade, introduced the development and bright future of Chinese economy, and called on the two countries to work together to build a more mature, stable and fruitful Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said that President Xi Jinping's visit to Tasmania has greatly boosted the development of Tasmania and China relations. China now is Tasmania's largest trading partner. Tasmania will seize the opportunity of the development of our bilateral relations, further expand exchanges and cooperation in areas like economy and trade, people-to-people exchanges etc.
The reception was held in a friendly, warm atmosphere. People from all walks of life in Australia and China enjoyed the traditional Chinese and Australian culture and had cordial conversation.
