Dermoid Cyst Ablation

A dermoid cyst is a bubble of skin turned inside-out and trapped under the surface. It contains oil, old skin cells and sometimes small hairs.
皮样囊肿是皮肤组织移位于皮下形成的。它包含油脂、衰老的皮肤细胞，有时也包含毛发。
If not treated, the cyst will slowly grow and may burst underneath the skin surface. Fluid leaking from the ruptured cyst can irritate nearby tissues causing pain swelling and sometimes scarring.

A new interventional radiology treatment for dermoid cysts called dermoid ablation involves ablating or killing the cyst using a small surgical wand inserted through a very small tube. Ultrasound imaging is used to guide a small tube called an angiocatheter into the cyst.
皮样囊肿的一种新型介入放射疗法是皮样囊肿消融，包括使用小型手术棒，插入非常小的管，消融或杀死囊肿；应用超声成像，将血管导管小管插入囊肿。
A medical detergent is injected to thin and dissolve the oily contents allowing the cyst contents to drain. A small amount of water is injected over the dermoid cyst to insulate and protect the skin.
注入医用清洗剂，稀释和溶解油性内容物，从而排出囊肿内容物。在皮样囊肿上注入少量水，来隔离和保护皮肤。
Next ultrasound imaging is used to guide a radiofrequency coblation wand through the angiocatheter into the cyst. The wand causes tightly focused heat to kill the skin cells lining the cyst.

As a result the dermoid cyst is destroyed. The dermoid cyst is replaced by a small flat scar under the skin that cannot be seen or felt.

After the procedure, the child can return to normal activities.
手术后，患儿可以恢复正常活动。
