This is it.
The hidden village in Xianju, often called the Shangri-La of the East, is saying goodbye to us.
In just the next three to four months, the local village hosts who have welcomed M2 teams for the last 10 years, along with rest of the senior villagers, will have to leave their beautiful village. They've lived there for decades, but now the local gov plans to "renovate" the village. They want to turn it into a commercial area and build a scenic park for the whole region. The days of it being a hiker's paradise are ending. In a few years, mass tourists will be visiting by cable car instead.
(Miller and Mariane) M2 Founders first met in this village and M2 went there more than 50 times with hundreds of M2adventurers. We will surely witness the legendary place and its great people close its last chapter and will stand by them every step of the way. So before it is too late, please join us to visit this amazing Hidden place with great views and tradtions. Via Ferrata in 5A National Scenic Park
This is one of newly built Via Ferrata, present quite an exciting challenge for non-rock-climbers. Will be an even more exciting experience than the wood path of Huashan mountain.
Fairy Mountain
5A national scenic park, in Xianju County, Zhejiang province. It has a unique geological structure and is the world's largest volcanic rhyolite landform cluster. The Via Ferrata is located near the north entrance of the Fairy mountain.
Gongyu Hidden Village, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province
A hidden village located deep in the mountain. It is often called "Shangrila of the East".
ITINERARY
Meeting & Drop off Point:Zhongshan Park Metro Station exit 8 of line 2 * Crossroad Kaixuan Road and Changning Road 凯旋路长宁路.

Day 1
Oct 2
08:15 Let's get the Hell Out Of Shanghai. We will be waiting for you at Zhongshan Park metro station, please arrive on time or a few mins earlier.
08:30 Everyone’s here, time to go!
13:30 Arrive at the Hotel (depends on traffic), have a group lunch (included) before going to check in the hotel.
15:00 After a good rest, drive to a nearby river to have some walk and chill by the river (can have some swim if the weather is hot enough)
18:00 Group Dinner (included) and explore the local town together, find a local bar for a beer or 2!
Day 2
Oct 3
07:00 Time to get up and have some local breakfast.
07:30 We can leave our luggage in the hotel, just carry a light backpack to explore today's Via Ferrata, we drive about 30mins to reach to the entrance of Fairy Mt Scenic Area.
08:00 Start our adventure with the Via Ferrata (about 3.5 hours).
In the beginning, it might look a bit scary, but once you are there, you will love it. The view from the top is just fantastic.
11:30 After the Via Ferrata, we will take the cable car to go up Fairy Mt and hike our way down (totally about 4h). The hike is easy, mostly stairs.
17:30 We will then drive back to the guesthouse, shower, or have free time.
18:30 Dinner is ready, lots of delicious food 😝
Day 3
Oct 4
08:30 Time to get up and ready for breakfast
09:30 We start hiking to the Hidden Village mostly uphill following a nice trail. The hike is about 2-2.5 hours.
12:00 Arrive at the hidden village and enjoy the amazing view
12:30 We will have lunch together at the village, nice food cooked by locals.
14:00 Rest for a bit and go for another light hike around the village for about 2h (optional)! You can also stay in the village to chill or do a slightly longer hike to reach to the top of a peak
18:00 After a whole day of hiking, you'll probably be hungry again... Good, because dinner is ready and waiting for us! Lots of delicious food.
19:30 Campfire is getting ready, the music is on, let's get the party started 🔥
Day 4
09:30 Get up and have breakfast
10:00 Pack our belongings and hike to the next village. The hike is about 3 hours, mostly downhill. If we get lucky, we might be able to see the cloud-sea view!
13:00 Drive for 30min and reach to the restaurant for lunch. After the meal, we will head back to Shanghai
20:00 Estimate time of arrival in Shanghai 😍

- If you decide to cancel last minute (less than 5 days in advance) you won't be able to get the deposit back.
- If the weather is really bad and represents a risk for people's safety, we would cancel the trip up to 1 days in advance.
- If traveling regulations were to change due to the coronavirus situation, we would cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance.
