Malaysian/Indonesian Students Visit Geely

On June 1, 2024, under the organization of MyHomie and the Malaysian/Indonesian Students Association, more than 30 Malaysian and Indonesian students visited the Geely Automobile Qiantang Production Base in Qiantang District, Hangzhou City, and gained an in-depth understanding of the development history of Geely Automobile and the AHTV (Automobile High-Technology Valley) project in Malaysia that Geely is currently vigorously developing. The students were very interested. Under the guidance of Geely employees, the students also visited the Geely Automobile production plant and saw the fully automated production in the workshop, which was a feast for the eyes.

With the explanation of Geely's 7-year veteran, everyone seemed to have returned to the 1990s and witnessed the entire process of a group from its inception to maturity and growth.

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group was founded in 1986 and entered the automotive field in 1997. It is now China’s leading automobile manufacturer and one of the world’s top 500 companies.

At the same time, Geely AHTV Project Public Relations Director also gave a detailed explanation of the AHTV project background, analyzed the project feasibility, project scale, and later planning. Geely Holding Group plans to produce 500,000 vehicles annually in the AHTV Industrial Park in Malaysia by 2035.

After learning about Geely's development history and Geely's AHTV project, the students visited Geely's factory. The production process and technical equipment of Geely Automobile were right in front of them. Automated machines can be seen everywhere in the factory, waving robotic arms, freely moving parts transport robots, automated transport lines, and conveyor elevators. New surprises can be seen every few steps.

After visiting the factory, all of students went to Geely’s canteen for lunch and had a short rest. After rejuvenation, students came to the car exhibition area. The car frames and finished cars in the exhibition hall came into view, and everyone was excited. They came to the front of the car, took photos with the car or sat in the car to start “test driving”. At this point, the Geely visit activity ended successfully.

On the way back, the students said that this was a new and pleasant experience, and they hoped to participate in more related activities in the future. Many students also expressed their desire to join Geely and become one of them.
