【明星学子】吴筱希 | “英”为热爱，“语”众不同

大家好！我是四年级2班的吴筱希，我的英文名叫Suki。我是一个文静内敛、喜欢思考、热爱英语、全面发展的女孩。

Hello everyone! I am Wu Xiaoxi, from Class 2, Grade 4. My English name is Suki. I am a quiet well-rounded girl who likes thinking and loves English very much.

多听多说是开启英语之门的钥匙。很小的时候，妈妈每天都会让我观看20分钟的英文原版动画和听英文儿歌，从那时起我对英语产生了浓厚的兴趣。上幼儿园后，遇见了我最喜欢的外教老师Mr Sean。每一节英语课，我都会抓住机会，在与老师的对话中，与小伙伴的对话中锻炼自己的口语。课后，我还会在外教的口语课程中提升自我。上了小学之后，我逐渐尝试站在了英语口语比赛的舞台，同时我加入了学校英语社团，在一次次的练习中，我从羞涩开口，到课堂上滔滔不绝。

Listening more and speaking more is the key to open the door of English. In my childhood, my mother would let me watch English cartoons for 20 minutes and listen to English nursery thymes every day. From then on, I developed a strong interest in English. After entering kindergarten, I met my favorite foreign teacher Mr Sean. In every English class, I seized the opportunity to practice my oral English in the dialogue with my teacher and my friends. After class, I also improved myself in the oral English courses with foreign teachers. After entering primary school, I gradually tried to take part in the oral English competition. At the same time, I joined the school English club. In each practice session, I went from speaking shyly to talking endlessly in class.

从我三岁起，妈妈开始陪我进行英文绘本阅读，一本本英语绘本，蕴藏着一个个有趣的故事。有趣的故事激起了我的阅读兴趣，四岁起，我开始了独自阅读之旅。从英国麦克米伦原版幼儿级别读物到牛津树绘本八级。从绘本中，我学到很多英文单词，不会的生词，我借助点读笔或者有道词典进行查阅。上了小学四年级，在英语老师温老师的推荐下，我开始了章节书《篷车少年》英文版的阅读。通过了解四个孩子的冒险经历，我看到了他们在成长中面临的困难、挑战和收获；感受到勇气、智慧和良善的力量。通过阅读，日积月累，我的英语词汇量，有了突飞猛进的进步。

Since the age of three, my mother has been accompanying me in reading English picture books, each of which contains captivating stories. These interesting narratives have sparked my interest in reading independently since the age of four. Starting from Macmillan’s original Springboard children’s level books to Oxford Tree’s picture books level 8, I have acquired a plethora of English vocabulary through these visual aids. To further enhance my understanding, I utilized a dot reading pen for word consultations. In fourth grade, under the recommendation of my English teacher Miss Wen, I beganto read The Boxcar Children. Through following the adventures of these four characters, I witnessed their growth through various challenges and triumphs while being inspired by their courage, wisdom, and kindness. Over time and with consistent reading practice, my English vocabulary has made significant strides.

小学后，我逐渐参与了一些赛事，在小学二年级，我在老师的鼓励下参加ABC全国青少年英语应用能力展示活动广东省决赛获得了小学A组的金奖， 并在ABC全国决赛中获得银奖；小学三年级我通过了KET，目前正在准备PET考试。

After entering primary school, I gradually participated in some competitions. In the second grade, with the encouragement of my teacher, I participated in the ABC National Youth English Application Ability Exhibition Guangdong Provincial Finals and won the gold medal in Group A of elementary school. As well as I won the silver medal in the ABC National Finals. I passed the KET in third grade of elementary school. And I currently have prepared for the PET exam.

“英”为热爱，“语”众不同。每一个孩子都是一颗星星，散发着自己的光芒，因为热爱，我每一天都在经历蜕变与成长。我希望同学们也能像我一样，找到英语学习的乐趣，手握英语这把打开世界之窗的钥匙，一起去探索更广阔的空间。

Because of the passion for English, we are outstanding among the crowd.Every child is a star, emitting his or her own light.Because of love, I am experiencing change and growth every day. I hope the students can also find the fun of learning English like me, hold the key to open the window of the world, and explore a broader space together.
