上海科技大学是由上海市人民政府与中国科学院共同举办、共同建设,由上海市人民政府负责日常管理的全日制普通高等学校。自建立以来,学校努力建设和发展成为一所小规模、高水平、国际化的研究型、创新型大学。2022年2月14日入选第二轮“双一流”建设高校。

The establishment and development of ShanghaiTech University have consistently aligned with China's reform and opening-up policy, as well as the innovative progress within Shanghai's Zhangjiang area. Located in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, ShanghaiTech plays an important role in the development of the Zhangjiang Comprehensive National Science Center. It is seamlessly integrated with national research institutes and major scientific facilities, including the Zhangjiang Laboratory, the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, and the National Facility for Protein Science in Shanghai. The proximity of neighboring facilities offers numerous opportunities for scientific collaborations. These facilities welcome not only ShanghaiTech faculty and students, but also other researchers from China and the world.
