The parotid gland is the largest of the salivary glands. It pours its secretions through the parotid duct into the vestibule of the mouth.
腮腺是最大的唾液腺。它通过腮腺管将分泌物排入口腔前庭。
The parotid gland is wedged in the space bounded by the ramus of the mandible anteriorly and the mastoid process posteriorly, the zygomatic process and the external acoustic meatus limited superiorly.

Inferiorly, its apex is posteroinferior to the angle of the mandible.

The infratemporal fossa is best seen when the ramus of the mandible and the parotid gland are removed.

The posterior edge of the mylohyoid muscle demarcates it from its deep lobe. The facial artery is closely related to this gland.
