We sat down with the organizer, Serdyuk Maria of HART Studio to find out more:
Can you tell us about Dragon and Crystals of Happiness?
It's an interactive theatrical show for kids aged 2-12, blending fantasy and adventure with tutorial acting. Set in a world of medieval myths and legends, the show features dragons, knights, and fairies, all in English. Produced by HART Studio, the story, music, and visuals are crafted by ICEX, an award-nominated composer, while the stage direction is led by Anji Taratuta, an acclaimed screenwriter and film director. The immersive setup transforms the Hunzhi Theatre in Shanghai Tower into a medieval village, with young performers welcoming audiences into the magical world.
What's the storyline, and how does it resonate with kids?
The story follows a brave knight and a kind fairy as they team up with children to retrieve stolen "happiness crystals" from a dragon. Along the way, kids learn magical kung fu and spells to overcome obstacles. Ultimately, they discover the dragon is simply lonely and in need of friendship, teaching that true happiness comes from kindness and support -- a message that resonates with all ages.
How do you keep kids engaged throughout the show?
The show combines interactive performances, 3D animations, and multimedia effects. Younger kids enjoy the whimsical characters and humor, while older kids are captivated by the immersive visuals and the adventure-packed storyline.
