🌙每晚8点哄孩子入睡
Once upon a time, there was a prince who really wanted to marry a true princess.
可这个公主必须是“真真正正”的公主。
But this princess had to be a "real, true princess."
于是，王子收拾好行李，踏上了寻找公主的旅程。
So the prince packed his bags and set off on a journey to find his princess.
他去了好多国家，见了好多自称是“公主”的姑娘。
He traveled to many countries and met many girls who claimed to be princesses.
有的姑娘很美丽，有的姑娘很聪明，还有的特别优雅。
Some of these girls were very beautiful, others were smart, and some were very graceful.
但不知怎么，王子总觉得差了点什么。
But somehow, the prince always felt that something was missing.
他心里想着：“她们真的是公主吗？总觉得有点不对劲儿。”
He thought to himself, "Are they really princesses? Something just doesn’t feel right."
就这样，王子满怀希望出发，又一次次失望而归。
So, with high hopes, he set out each time, only to return disappointed again and again.
最后，他只能无奈地回到王宫。
In the end, he had no choice but to return to the palace.
就在他回来的那天晚上，突然天上乌云密布，狂风呼啸。
The night he came back, dark clouds suddenly filled the sky, and fierce winds began to howl.
电闪雷鸣，暴雨像是倒下来一样，打得窗户噼里啪啦响。
Lightning flashed, thunder roared, and rain poured down, pounding against the windows.
就在大家都被吵得睡不着的时候，忽然“咚咚咚”，有人在敲王宫的大门。
As everyone lay awake from the noise, suddenly there was a loud "knock, knock, knock" on the palace door.
老国王亲自去开了门，门外站着一个全身湿透的女孩。
The old king himself went to open the door, and outside stood a girl completely soaked.
头发、衣服全都湿哒哒地滴着水，模样狼狈极了。
Her hair and clothes were dripping wet, and she looked terribly bedraggled.
女孩喘着气说：“我是个公主，可是路上遇到了大雨，请让我在王宫里借宿一晚吧！”
The girl panted, "I am a princess, but I got caught in the rain. Please let me stay in the palace for the night!"
老皇后一听，眯起眼睛打量着她，心里想：“她真的是公主吗？这可得试试看！”
When the old queen heard this, she squinted her eyes, sizing up the girl and thought, "Is she really a princess? We'll just have to see!"
老皇后不动声色，带着女孩去卧房，让人准备床铺。
Without a word, the queen led the girl to a bedroom and asked the servants to prepare a bed.
她悄悄地吩咐仆人把床上的被褥都搬开，然后在床底下放了一颗小小的豌豆。
She quietly instructed the servants to remove all the bedding and placed a tiny pea on the bed frame.
接着又铺了二十层厚厚的床垫和二十床软软的鸭绒被。
Then, she layered twenty thick mattresses and twenty soft feather quilts on top of it.
女孩被安排在这张“超级高床”上睡觉，几乎要爬上去才行。
The girl was set to sleep on this "super high bed," and she almost had to climb up to get on it.
第二天一早，老皇后笑眯眯地问：“昨晚睡得好吗？”
Early the next morning, the queen asked with a smile, "How did you sleep last night?"
女孩揉着眼睛，一脸疲惫地说：“唉呀，不好受啊！床上好像有个硬硬的东西顶着我，硌得我浑身疼，整夜都没睡好。”
The girl rubbed her eyes, looking exhausted, and said, "Oh, it was awful! Something hard was poking me all night, and it hurt so much I couldn't sleep at all."
老皇后听完，心里偷笑：没错，这姑娘一定是个真正的公主。
The queen chuckled to herself, thinking, "Yes, this girl must be a real princess."
因为只有真正的公主才会对一颗小小的豌豆都这么敏感。
Only a true princess could be sensitive enough to feel a tiny pea under all those mattresses.
王子一听，心花怒放，终于找到了他梦寐以求的“真正的公主”。
When the prince heard this, he was overjoyed—he had finally found his "true princess."
于是开心地向她求婚，公主也笑着答应了王子的求婚。
He happily proposed to her, and the princess smiled and accepted.
两人从此幸福地生活在一起。
And so, they lived happily ever after.
那颗小小的豌豆被珍藏在王宫的博物馆里，成为了他们爱情的见证。
The tiny pea was kept in the palace museum as a symbol of their love.
直到今天还安静地躺在那里呢！
And to this day, it still rests there quietly!
