五年前,Metasonar的第一篇推文《关于声音的声音》表达了一种探索性的愿景:
出于对声音的关注,我们也不断思考在真实声学声音、具体音乐、电子音乐以及如今各色软件硬件合成器和采样音色包融合的今天,声音何为?它是一段波形数据?还是一种抽象语言?它是能够激起某些特定反应的符号,抑或是一种情感和记忆?它的可理解性与意义取决于它的发生、它的历史还是它的质感?它能否被一种类“元”的思维去解构、还原并重置?对一种声音的感性认知是否能让我们创造出另一种声音?这是Metasonar诞生的初衷。
Five years ago, Metasonar's first article, "The Sound of Sound", expressed an exploratory vision:

Out of our interests in sound, we have been concerned ourselves with the contemporary ontology of sound, amidst the whirlpool of acoustic sound, musique concrète, electronic music and a fusion of synthesizers and preset samples. Simply put, what is sound? Is it a waveform data, or an abstract language? Is it a sign of specific signified, or a piece of sentiment and memory? Does its meaning or interpretability depend on its happening, its history or its quality? Is it available for deconstruction, restoration and reconstruction through a kind of ‘meta’ rationale? Can we use our sensory recognition of a particular sound to create a new sound? To answer these questions, Metasonar is born.

五年间,这个初衷并没有改变:从使用白噪音塑造的《Black Noise》系列,探索城市声音的《日常秩序 - 听觉城市》,到关注工业时代与人类世的《Disappear Forever》,再到带有怀旧与乌托邦色彩的《礼堂 Ideological Factory》,以及作为声音系统化与逻辑化表达的《不稳定的平庸》。尽管发行频率一直保持克制,但每一次出品都追求保持水准、概念与独特的美学。在充满不确定性的时代,Metasonar就像暗夜中的火光,微弱却不熄,持续燃烧。
In the past five years, this original intention has remained unchanged: from the "Black Noise" series shaped by white noise, to "Daily Order - Auditory City" which explores urban sounds, to "Disappear Forever" which focuses on the industrial age and the Anthropocene, to "Ideological Factory" with nostalgic and utopian imagination, and to "Unstable Mediocrity" as a systematic and logical expression of sound. Although the release frequency has always been restrained, each production pursues maintaining standards, concepts, and unique aesthetics. In an era with many uncertainties, Metasonar is like a fire at night, weak but unextinguished, continuously burning.

从2019年到今天,从上海到北京。Metasonar策划的活动从俱乐部跨界到独立空间、美术馆,甚至线上虚拟空间,活动内容包括讲座和对谈、工作坊、声音演出和行为演出。我们旨在打破音乐发声的物理和语义界限,进行跨学科和跨领域的探索和创作。在此,感谢所有让这一切得以发生的新老朋友。
From 2019 to today, from Shanghai to Beijing. The events curated by Metasonar have crossed boundaries from clubs to independent spaces, art galleries, and even virtual spaces online. The event contents include lectures and conversations, workshops, sound performances, and performance art. We aim to break music's physical and semantic boundaries and conduct interdisciplinary and cross-field exploration and creation. Here, we thank all new and old friends who have made all this possible.
11月8号,受“在场音乐计划”邀请,Metasonar将举办一场庆祝五周年的showcase。当天,音乐人ARCHITECT在Metasonar发行的第二张专辑《Tribes》也将上线,所以此次活动同时也将是《Tribes》的发行派对。届时7组音乐人将在798艺术中心带来不同形式的演出,呈现Metasonar的能量与美学。
On November 8th, invited by the "ON SITE MUSIC PROJECT", Metasonar will hold a fifth-anniversary showcase. On that day, the second album "Tribes" released by ARCHITECT on Metasonar will also be launched. Therefore, this event will also be the release party of "Tribes". On that night, seven groups of musicians will bring different forms of performances at the 798 Art Center, presenting the energy and aesthetics of Metasonar.

MMS 是一位艺术家和策展人,其多元化的工作以无数个假身份展开。其中一个身份便是“Plain District 素域”项目的创始人。  
他的实践跨越多个学科领域,融合艺术、技术与音乐。MMS 在中国的创意和音乐界树立了独特的艺术、策展和音乐表达风格。  
MMS不拘于正统的表演涵盖 hybrid DJ/live Techno sets 和实验音乐 live sets。
MMS is an artist and curator whose diverse body of work crossed infinite pseudo-identities — founder of the Plain District platform.  
Working across a multiplicity of disciplines, blending art, technology, and music, MMS has carved out a distinct artistic, curatorial, and sonic voice in China's creative and music scene.  
His unorthodox performance spans from hybrid DJ/live Techno sets to experimental live sets.

— NaNnotanumber—
NaNnotanumber偏爱重型节拍与致幻旋律,风格以Techno/Electro为主。深受欧陆Techno场景的影响,从有着“La Ruta”历史的瓦伦西亚出发,NaNnotanumber希望每一场演出都能通过她的音乐为舞客创造出清醒梦般的沉浸体验。
Hit by the overwhelming drums at a club by the seashore of Valencia, NaNnotanumber woke up finding her blood vessels Techno-Electroplated. NaNnotanumber pushes toward lucid dream-like music experiences for the crowd through her strong rhythms and hallucinating melodies. NaNnotanumber has been active in prestigious clubs like Dada Beijing, MCLAB, Wigwam and Solo, often spotted in diverse music venues in Beijing as well.

R Ξ Π, 来自北京的Industrial Techno DJ&制作人,现为Metasonar和SILK的成员。热衷于用Techno再现北京工业时代的氛围,展现社会主义建设初期的"工业景观";这不仅是对北京早期工业时代的追溯,更是一种挖掘Techno与社会主义美学、粗野主义和东亚精神融合的实验性表达。通过这种方式,R Ξ Π 试图在音乐中建立起一种全新的联系,引起人们对北京这座城市逝去的工业美感产生共鸣,以及其表象背后对工业社会的思考。
R Ξ Π, an Industrial Techno DJ and producer from Beijing, is a member of both Metasonar and SILK.  Skilled in using Techno to recreate the ambiance of Beijing's industrial era, he showcases the "industrial landscape" of the early days of socialist construction. This is not only a retrospective of Beijing's early industrial age but also an experimental expression exploring the fusion of Techno with socialist aesthetics, brutalism, and East Asian spirit. Through this approach, R Ξ Π aims to establish a new connection in his music, evoking resonance with the vanished industrial beauty of Beijing and prompting reflection on the underlying aspects of industrial society.

—ARCHITECT—
ARCHITECT是Alex Damboianu的另一个自我,他是罗马尼亚出生、重庆定居的建筑师和视听艺术家,同时也是实验音乐二重奏ATELIER II的成员。就像他的建筑一样,亚历克斯的声音也是抽象的、压倒性的、粗暴的、冥想的、内省的、存在主义的,有时甚至是令人不安的。在过去几年中,他的作品和现场表演在节奏选用都非常克制,而如今则愈发往techno音乐发展。
ARCHITECT is the musical alter ego of Alex Damboianu, a Romanian-born, Chongqing-based architect and audio/visual artist, also part of the experimental music duo ATELIER II. Like his architecture, the sound proposed by Alex is abstract, overwhelming, brute, meditative, introspective, existential, and sometimes disturbing. In the past yers his compositions and live performances were very restrictive in terms of rhythm but there is a new inclination towards techno genre.

— ΛNGELVS —
ΛNGELVS 是一位音乐制作人,她的作品涉及声音可视化、空间声音装置,曾于不同的美术馆、画廊、剧院与俱乐部演出。她发起的独立厂牌 Metasonar 专注于推广实验音乐,并尝试将不同的媒介与科学融入俱乐部场景,拓宽声音的界限。作为  DJ,她深受 Techno、Dub Techno、UK Bass、Dark Wave 等风格的影响,将复古的元素与解构的节奏微妙地融合成暗黑、凛冽又极具空间感的氛围之旅。
ΛNGELVS is an artist and music producer whose works involved sound visualisation, spatial sound installations and has performed in various galleries, museums, theaters and clubs. She launched the independent label Metasonar, which focuses on promoting experimental music and experimenting with different mediums and sciences into the club scene to broaden the boundaries of sound. As a DJ, she is deeply influenced by Techno, Dub Techno, UK Bass and Dark Wave, subtly blending retro elements and deconstructed rhythms into  a dark, cold and atmospheric journey.

—Badiation 黑体辐射—
黑体辐射,北京二人电子组合,成员Wáa和Nous,在经历了各自的音乐探索后,融合techno/break/industrial等风格,这个组合试图在电子音乐的可听性和实验性中寻找到一种平衡,探索理性和感性之间的神秘未知空间。  
“黑体辐射”这个名字本身就暗示着音乐的复杂性和精妙之处,就如同黑体辐射的概念一样,它既能吸收所有电磁辐射,同时也能辐射出所有的电磁辐射波段。组合的名字巧妙地传达出他们音乐的丰富性,同时又点明了其易于被接受的一面。
Badiation, a Beijing-based electronic duo consisting of Wáa and Nous, blends techno, breakbeat, and industrial styles to create a unique sound that explores the balance between listenability and experimentation in electronic music. Their music delves into the mysterious and uncharted territory between rationality and sensibility.      
黑体辐射 is the Chinese name for Badiation, which means "Black Body Radiation", a type of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a black body, which is a perfect absorber and emitter of radiation. This name suggests that the band's music is complex and sophisticated, yet still has a certain accessibility.

—In_K—
新媒体艺术家毕振宇以「In_K」为代号进行数字交互影像的探索和创作。涉及影像表演,现代舞交互,灯光影像装置,沉浸式影像展览、VR、MR、AI 艺术等等。2011年成立「神经元」视觉团队,参与地下派对、音乐节、演唱会等不同规模的演出, 2017 年组建新媒体艺术组合「DROWYEK」。囊括了视听表演和互动数字影像装置等艺术表达形式。
New media artist Bi Zhenyu explores and creates digital interactive visuals under the alias 'In_K.' His work spans visual performances, interactive visuals, light and video installations, immersive exhibitions, VR, MR, and AI art. In 2011, he founded the visual team 'Neuron Lab,' participating in events of various scales such as underground parties, music festivals, and concerts. In 2017, he formed the new media art collective 'DROWYEK,' encompassing art forms like audiovisual performances and interactive digital installations.

年轻可汗ZAΓREOΣ 的大军行进速率为120-200bpm,视情况而定,其先锋为凶狠嘈杂的Schranz。他的队伍经过,闻者无一不加入戴欧尼西亚的狂欢,于鼓点织就的暴风骤雨中发扬蹈厉

The young Khan ZAΓREOΣ's army marches at a rate of 120-200 bpm, depending on the situation, with the fierce and raucous Schranz leading the vanguard. As his troops pass, those who hear join the frenzy of Dionysian revelry, dancing fiercely in the storm woven by the rhythm of drums.
Excerpt from his autobiography, "The Path of ZAΓREOΣ":
"The sky hangs like iron, and on the plain, the fiery glint akin to a young beast's eyes is the iron cavalry of the Khan. While Dionysus Khan sits alone in his tent, his son, the heir ZAΓREOΣ, stands before the formation. Like his father, a blend of reckless violence and childlike playfulness, solemnity merged with fanaticism, is his style of mobilizing troops. Under his command, the Menades, amidst the frenzied dance of Schranz war songs, rupture eardrums and begin the ritual. All shall be reborn in acidic substances."
