The World Maritime Merchants Forum was initiated in 2021. Over three consecutive sessions, the forum's influence and recognition have grown, establishing it as a key promoter of the global shipping industry's prosperity. In an era of rapid technological revolution, our understanding of the world is being transformed by new changes, integrations, and business models across fields. The shipping industry faces complex, frequent and uncertain shifts, demanding higher capabilities to navigate the cycles. Embracing innovation is essential to overcome these challenges. The 2024 forum, themed "Navigating the Cycles", aims to spotlight new opportunities and challenges in the shipping industry amidst global economic and trade fluctuations. The industry is influenced by factors like rapid, century-unseen changes, geopolitical tensions, sluggish trade, complex financial environment, digital and low-carbon transformations, and global supply chain adjustments. The forum will facilitate discussions on understanding these changes, seizing trends, and collaboratively overcoming industry cycles to forge a new global shipping ecosystem. Experts and elites will delve into hot topics, including strategies for industry challenges, Hong Kong's shipping center development, geopolitical impacts, shipping finance's role in transformation, carbon tax implications, and AI's role in digital shipping transformation. Themed Sub-forums and Live Streaming will also focus on shipping market, legal and insurance, port logistics, finance, offering online live streaming interactions.
