Artificial Intelligence in Sustainable Finance and Accounting

The British Accounting Review is pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on sustainable accounting and finance. This special issue aims to deepen the understanding of how AI can be utilized to process and analyze the vast volumes of alternative data, such as textual content, satellite imagery, and other images, emerging from sustainable accounting and finance practices. It focuses on enhancing transparency, accountability, and precision in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessments. We welcome contributions from accounting and finance scholars engaged in rigorous examinations of these critical areas.

Impact of AI on Sustainability Reporting: How AI technologies influence the quality, accuracy, and comprehensibility of sustainable reporting.• Ethical Implications: Exploring ethical considerations and potential biases in AI applications within sustainable finance.
Regulatory Compliance: The role of AI in aiding firms to meet evolving sustainability regulations.
