This is one of our favorite hiking spots near Shanghai and probably the best place to go during the Chinese Holidays! 


A breath-taking hidden village, surrounded by mountains, clouds, and rice terrace. It is also known as the "Shangri-La of East China". 


Also, we will spend some quality time both exploring the amazing Fairy mt, a 5A scenic area and relaxing at one of the best hot springs near suzhou, with many hot pools and breathtaking lake views.

 DESTINATION DETAILS 

Gongyu Village, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province 

A hidden village located deep in the mountain. It is often called "Shangrila of the East".


Hot spring

This one's M2 go-to hot spring location every single year! Just outside of Shanghai (near Suzhou), the place is famous for its beautiful lake view & infinity pool.

Fairy Mountain

5A national scenic park, in Xianju County, Zhejiang province. It has a unique geological structure and is the world's largest volcanic rhyolite landform cluster.



 ITINERARY 

Meeting & Drop off Point: Zhongshan Park Metro Station exit 8 of line 2 * Crossroad Kaixuan Road and Changning Road 凯旋路长宁路.

Day 1

Jan 30

08:00 Gathering at Zhongshan Park metro & leave Shanghai 

14:00 Arriving* and go buy fireworks at a small town

*estimate arrival time, can vary depending on traffic

15:00 Start hiking

17:00 Arriving at the beautiful hidden village and relaxing a bit.

18:00 Making tofu/doufu together and drink the soy milk we made

19:30 Enjoy great local organic food as dinner

20:00 Chitchat, share our journeys and Adventures stories, and prepare for the party to come

21:00 Campfire party, drinking, and dancing, fireworks & firecrackers all night long, celebrate the Chinese New Year eve together 🎇 3 🎇 2 🎇 1 🎇 Happy Chinese New Year! 

Day 2

 Jan 31

09:30 Wake up and enjoy breakfast 

10:30 Hike for half an hour and reach a local small temple to show respect to local gods and pray for next year's fortune and luck, hopefully, our dream will come true 

11:30 Let's get going for a 2 hours hike to reach the top of an amazing peak (picnic lunch at the top). From there, we can have an amazing panoramic view!  

You can also choose to stay in the village to relax and chill (read a book, take pictures...)

16:00 Back to the village and make delicious dumplings together. 

18:00 Traditional Chinese New Year dinner with local villagers and enjoy our handmade dumplings and tofu

19:00 Bonfire party again

Day 3

Feb 1

08:30 Time to get up and have some local breakfast.

If you still have energy, we can have a light hike not far from the village to a cool platform. If you feel like chilling, you can just chill in the village and walk around!

11:30 We will have lunch together at the village

13:00 Pack our belongings and hike to the next village. The hike is about 3 hours, mostly downhill. If the weather permits, we might see the cloud-sea view!

16:30 Reach the end of the hike and meet our private bus, drive for 30mins and reach the local hotel where we will spend the night. Get our rooms and have a good rest. 


18:00 Dinner is ready, lots of delicious food 😝




Day 4

Feb 2

08:30 Wake up and enjoy a hearty breakfast!


09:00 Start the hike from the East Gate and enjoy a 2-hour slow ascent, passing through scenic spots like Shenxianju Pavilion and Xianren Rock.

11:00 Reach the top and take a break at Fairy Bridge with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.


12:30 After lunch (not incl) we will continue exploring the area around Fuxi Peak for about an hour, walking along the cliffside paths and enjoying the views.

13:30 Begin the descent back towards the West Gate, taking about 1.5–2 hours.

15:30 Return to our hotel and unwind after a day of hiking.

18:00 Dinner is ready, lots of delicious food 😝 Later, you can consider going for a massage or have a couple of drinks at a nearby bar (not incl).



Day 5

 Feb 3

08:30 After breakfast, we will drive back but stop on the way to go to the hot spring by the lake. We will find a service station to have our lunch break (not included).

13:00 Arriving hot spring resort. We will stay here for 3.5h so you can enjoy and try all the pools (rose, lemon, lavender, Chinese medicine, mint, aloe vera, milk...) and relax the infinity pools by the lake (simply amazing).

There is a nice restaurant in the hot spring (but only has some simple options), you can have lunch here (at your own expense)

Free fruits, snacks, coffee, and tea are available on the 2nd floor of the main building, you can take a good rest there.


16:30 Time to drive to shanghai! 

18:00 Arriving in Shanghai with great memories and many new friends! :)

If you have any symptoms such as fever, coughing or other illness prior to the trip, please inform us right away.

Cancellation Policy


- If you decide to cancel last minute (less than7 days in advance) you won't be able to get the deposit back.

- If the weather is really bad and represents a risk for people's safety during hiking, we will cancel the trip up to 2 days in advance.

- If traveling regulations were to change due to the coronavirus situation, we would cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance.
