在贵州的大街小巷

有一种特色小吃

因其独特的外形和制作过程而得名

面皮薄如轻纱,仿佛云雾缭绕

颜值相当在线

一张小小的面皮

卷上五颜六色的时令蔬菜条

还记得火爆全网的“村超”吗?贵州省的小小村庄,因为一场草根足球比赛,吸引了全球目光,跃升为“地球村”。让世界看到,中国的“草根”,也能如此精彩!

Do you remember the "Village Premier League" that went viral online?A small village in Guizhou Province caught the world's attention with a grassroots football match, turning it into a "global village". It demonstrated that China's grassroots efforts can be truly amazing too.



贵州还有一道同样看起来“草根”却同样精彩的传统小吃——“丝娃娃”。

Guizhou has a traditional snack that might seem humble, but it’s really delicious. It's called “si wa wa”. 


它的制作并不复杂,用大米粉烙成薄如纸张的饼皮,再卷入土豆丝、萝卜丝、折耳根、豆芽、韭菜等色彩各异的蔬菜丝,浇上蘸水酱汁,就可以食用。   

Take thin, paper-like pancakes made from rice flour and wrap them around colorful shredded vegetables like potatoes, radishes, fish mint, bean sprouts, and Chinese chives. Add a dipping sauce on top, and you can enjoy it!



这样直白的饮食方式,与贵州的地理环境有关。云贵地区山高水急,长江上游支流赤水河畔,多急流险滩。

This simple way of eating is tied to the geography of Guizhou. The Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau has many mountains and swift rivers. The Chishui River, a branch of the Yangtze River, is particularly challenging due to its rapids and dangerous shoals. 


古时因交通滞后,货物运输不便,贵州不易获取油盐。人们就把淘米水盛于缸中发酵成酸汤,作为娃娃”的标配蘸水 ,再将姜蒜葱韭、鱼虾蟹等捣碎发酵出汁,用以调味。

In ancient times, getting salt and oil in Guizhou was tough due to poor transportation. As a result, people started fermenting rice water in jars to make sour soup, which became the common dipping sauce for “si wa wa”. They also crushed and fermented ingredients like ginger, garlic, scallions, Chinese chives, fish, shrimps, and crabs to make juices for seasoning.



赤水河航运的兴起,促进了川黔两省人员物资来往,带动了沿岸经济社会的发展。

The increase in shipping on the Chishui River made it easier for people and goods to move between Sichuan and Guizhou, boosting economic and social development along the river.


川盐入黔,人们的饮食丰富起来,“丝娃娃”的美味也在传承中不断创新。食客可以根据个人喜好加入糊辣椒、炸黄豆等配料。基础蘸水,变得千人千味。

As Sichuan salt came into Guizhou, people's diets became more varied, and the flavor of “si wa wa” continued to evolve while respecting tradition. You can add ingredients like chilipaste and fried soybeans to suit your taste. Therefore, this simple dipping sauce has been transformed into many different flavors.



在贵州的年饭桌上,丝娃娃就像贵州人的生活一样更加多彩,面皮开始呈现出紫、绿、粉、黄等多种色彩,卷在面皮里的菜,也越来越包罗万象。

"Si wa wa" is served on the family reunion dinner during the Spring Festival in Guizhou. It's as colorful as the lives of the people here. The pancakes come in shades like purple, green, pink, and yellow, and the vegetables inside are becoming more varied.



“丝娃娃”看起来特别像襁褓中的婴儿,面皮中的菜又是一丝一丝的,贵州人就叫它“丝娃娃”了。

"Si wa wa" looks like a baby wrapped in blankets, with the vegetables inside shredded into thin strips, known as "si" in Chinese. That's why the Guizhou people call it "si wa wa". 


这个菜名的后面两个汉字“娃娃”,就是“婴儿”的意思。所以,这道菜承载了“多子多福”的寓意,也就是子嗣昌盛、家族兴旺的意思。这是中国老年人认为最最重要的新年祝福。

The last two characters of the its name, “wa wa”, mean “children” in Chinese. This gives the dish a special meaning of wishing for “duo zi duo fu” (lit. many children and blessings), symbolizing a thriving family with many descendants. For older Chinese folks, this is their most cherished wish for the Forthcoming Spring.
