Professor Xuehua Zhang earned her PhD in biomedical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Her early career started from an Endeavor Postdoctoral Fellowship in Australia National University. Then she was awarded with a highly competitive Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship and later a prestigious Future Fellowship at the University of Melbourne. In 2014, she was appointed as an Associate Professor at RMIT University, and a part-time professor at University of Twente, the Netherlands. In 2017, she was appointed as a Professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta in Canada. Professor Zhang is holding Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) at Soft Matter and Interfaces. Her team combines experimental, theoretical, and numerical methods in their research areas of microscopic bubbles and drops in multicomponent systems, evaporation of multicomponent drops, clean energy and cold plasma technology for water treatment.
