The History of Crane Tea House
Built in 1923, Crane Tea House is one of the oldest tea houses in Chengdu. Its name comes from a fascinating legend: A businessman, upon visiting the People's Park, thought it was the perfect place for tea. That night, he dreamed of white cranes playing, which symbolized good fortune, thus naming the tea house "He Ming" (Crane Calling). Since then, the Crane Tea House has become a gathering place for scholars.
