斯里兰卡新任卫生和媒体部长纳林达·贾亚蒂萨（Nalinda Jayathissa）表示，新政府已决定废除国务部长的概念，将在近两天内任命26至28名副部长，这标志着政策的转变。“副部长的任命将在短期内完成。根据选前发布的政策宣言，不会任命国务部长”。

当被问及是否只会为部分内阁职位任命副部长而不是全部时，贾亚蒂萨未作进一步说明。不过，他指出“各部秘书可能会进行调整、重新任命或新任命，但最终决定尚未完整作出”。
根据最新消息，今天下午政府已任命了多个部委新秘书，财政部秘书马欣达·西里瓦达纳职位不变。
