背景信息
美国公平就业实践委员会 (Fair Employment Practice Committee ，简称FEPC) 档案是研究者探索在工作场所的美国民权运动史和二战期间美国公民自由状况的宝贵资源 。该委员会成立于 1941 年，旨在执行富兰克林·罗斯福总统的第 8802 号行政命令“禁止联邦机构以及所有从事战争相关工作的工会和公司的歧视性就业做法”，帮助非裔美国人和其他少数族裔在二战期间获得后方工业的就业机会。FEPC拥有处理针对联邦政府、雇主和与联邦政府签订合同的工会以及从事战争生产的实体和工会投诉的权力。
