High performance steel structures
High performance steel structures represent a significant advancement in engineering, providing high strength, toughness, ductility, weldability, corrosion resistance, cold formability, and adaptability essential for the next generation of sustainable construction. High performance steel herein includes high strength steel, stainless steel, weathering steel, fire-resistant steel, high-toughness steel, low-yield-point steel, shape memory alloy steel, additive manufacturing steel and other types/grades of steel used in construction different from low-grade carbon steel.
These advanced materials are engineered to address critical challenges such as seismic performance, fatigue behavior, fire resistance, and environmental durability, thereby enhancing the resilience and sustainability of contemporary structures. Leveraging these advanced steel materials facilitates superior quality control, expedited construction processes, and the minimization of risks and waste. This special issue aims to delve deep into the mechanical properties of high performance steel materials, members, connections and structures, and to provide the latest advancements in this field.

Journal of Constructional Steel Research的CAR指数
