今天的Essay Analysis我们要来讲解Sloan，Sloan除了那篇万年不变的Cover Letter和一分钟的Video Essay以外，今年文书有没有什么样的变化呢？

MIT Sloan seeks students whose personal characteristics demonstrate that they will make the most of the incredible opportunities at MIT, both academic and non-academic. Short Answer Question
Sloan过去这些年最被人诟病的就是文书的发挥空间实在太小，所以学校在两年前加入了这篇Short Answer Question给到申请人更多展现自己的机会。
The Admissions Committee is excited to learn more about you and your background. In 250 words, please respond to the following short answer question:How has the world you come from shaped who you are today? For example, your family, culture, community, all help to shape aspects of your life experiences and perspective. Please use this opportunity to share more about your background.这篇其实就是标准的一篇250字的Who You Are Essay。这篇文书它着重在你的成长经历（不管是家庭、文化、你隶属的群体社群等）如何塑造了今天的你，而这样性格的塑造怎么在你人生的每个十字路口让你做出了什么样的选择，造就了今天的你。我们在写这篇之前，一样要看一下前面的Cover Letter和一分钟视频内容写了、录了什么，并做出一定的区隔——Cover Letter更多展现出工作、职业上的优点及成就，视频更多展现了你工作以外是一个怎么样的人；而这一篇就要呈现你的who you are是如何造就出来的，并透过这篇文书展现自己最内核的故事。🌰比如说，你的家人是一个连续创业家，甚至到了退休年龄还开始新的事业，这样的性格造成你永远在突破自己的舒适圈，并举出你人生每个阶段里展现你创业精神和突破舒适圈的经验。🌰又或者，你们老家的文化是如何，而这样的文化你从小耳濡目染，如何影响你、塑造你的性格和处事方式，进而如何影响你人生中的decision-making。
其他
除了上述这些Essay和视频以外，Sloan还需要申请人提交一个Org Chart，这个需要点时间制作，可别忽略。
另外，今年学校除了在Video Question 1以外，加了一个random、让申请人无法事先准备的视频题目，但是这种题目通常是开放性问题或者行为性问题，没有正确答案，更多是要看你临场反应及真实的英文口语能力如何。
再来，Sloan的Essay题目看起来不多，但是那是因为学校想要省申请人的时间，到了学校发面试以后，收到面试的申请人还会额外有两篇Essay要写，就往年经验来说，一篇的题目会跟ED&I相关，另一篇则会跟你如何运用Data来做商业决定相关。
最后，如果你是打算申请Mid-Career的Sloan Fellows MBA的申请人，还会有另外两篇200字的Essay要写哦，一篇是CG和Why SFMBA的Essay，而另一篇则是讲你General Management经历的Essay。
