Cover

The Sichuan-Yunnan region is one of the most seismically active regions in China, with several identified seismic gaps. However, the potential for strong earthquakes in these gaps remains a topic of debate. The cover image highlights the major seismic gaps in the region and the distribution of possible strong earthquake hazard zones, based on a synthesis of domestic and international research analyses in recent years. For details, see the review paper by Yong ZHENG et al. on pages 3339–3366.
