Embark on an adventure through Yunnan with award-winning author and Chinese cuisine expert, Fuchsia Dunlop. This once-in-a-lifetime journey offers a deep dive into the finest flavors of Yunnan cuisine while exploring the region’s natural wonders and rich cultural heritage. Eat with local families, visit lively markets with your private chefs, and most importantly, be introduced to the best that Yunnan food has to offer.

Each restaurant, dish, and bite will be carefully designed by Fuchsia herself. Our gastronomic adventure begins in tangy southern Yunnan on a quest to discover the origin of Across the Bridge Noodles, possibly the province’s best-known snack. From there, we travel north to Kunming, the capital of rice noodles and everything pickled, for its famous savory mushroom hotpot. Meander deeper into the Himalayan foothills to Dali, a former trading post for the Tea and Horse Caravan, for its delightful cheese creations. Along the way, you will experience this and much more as we test out exotic ethnic flavors (Han, Yi, Naxi, Dai, Bai to be precise!), learn firsthand how to cook local foods, and converse with villagers and chefs about each place’s cuisines.
