Who we are
The Embassy of Belgium in Beijing processes visa applications with destination Belgium for applicants living in mainland China and Mongolia. Within China we work with VFS (external service provider) who operates and runs fifteen visa application centers where clients can submit their visa applications.
The visa section at the Embassy currently comprises 10 visa assistants who report to 3 visa officers under overall coordination and supervision of the Vice-Consul and Consul-General.
Required profile and competences
·Undergraduate (bachelor) degree
·Good knowledge of Chinese
·Good knowledge of one of the following: English or French or Dutch
·Good knowledge of Microsoft 365
·Excellent written and oral communication skills
·Able to plan workload efficiently
·Be able to work independently
·Be a team player and have good interpersonal skills
·Exercise discretion and possess a high degree of professional responsibility
·Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment is recommended
Selection Procedure
After a pre-screening based on CV and cover letter, the selection procedure will comprise a written test and oral interview, during which the applicant’s skills and motivation for this position will be evaluated. The interview will also allow applicants to raise any questions they may have about the position.
Interviews will tentatively be scheduled in the course of the month of January 2025.
