Vocabulary

Proactive:

  • Proactive means to take action and be responsible for making something happen, rather than just waiting for it to happen.

  • The "pro-" part means "before" or "in advance", so proactive is about being active and doing things ahead of time.

  • Being proactive is the opposite of being passive and reactive.

Goal:

  • A goal is something you want to achieve or accomplish in the future.

  • It's a target or aim that you work towards completing.

  • Goals can be short-term (like passing a test) or long-term (like getting a degree).

Dream:

  • A dream is a hope, aspiration or vision you have for your future.

  • It's something you imagine or wish for, that you don't necessarily have yet.

  • Dreams can motivate you to take action and make them a reality.

Actively:

  • Actively means doing something in an engaged, purposeful way.

  • It's the opposite of passively or halfheartedly.

  • Being actively involved in something means putting in full effort and attention.
