UN peacekeeping operations play a vital role in maintaining global peace and security by deploying personnel to conflict zones to prevent violence and support peacebuilding efforts. Funding for these operations comes from voluntary contributions from UN member states, with the peacekeeping budget being a significant funding source. Various funding mechanisms such as trust funds and voluntary contributions from private organizations support these operations. Adequate funding is essential for the success of UN peacekeeping missions, providing necessary resources for personnel and logistical support.

Distinguished Guest: Fabrizio Hochschild
法布里齐奥·霍奇希尔德毕业于英国牛津大学，精通英语、西班牙语、德语、法语，2019 年至 2021 年担任联合国副秘书长兼秘书长特别顾问；早期曾任联合国冲突评估小组组长、（纽约）外勤支助部外勤人员主任，领导编写关于南苏丹冲突驱动因素的综合报告，负责维和特派团成员的招募和管理等工作；2022 年至今担任诸多重要研究机构高级研究员，始终致力于全球和平与安全事务；其以全球和平为主题，曾发表《“和平的发展和利益”与和平司法对话》、《没有坚持，就没有和平（关于哥伦比亚和平进程）》等诸多文章。此外，他在人道主义事务领域有丰富的实践经历和突出贡献，在其职业生涯中，还曾担任联合国驻地方（南苏丹、萨拉热窝、塞尔维亚、坦桑尼亚等）难民署的地方办事处主任、人道主义协调员等职位，在全球多地发展人道主义行动，致力于当地和平建设和可持续发展。他在多年维和与人道主义事务领域的实践工作和理论研究中，积累了丰富的多边外交和国际合作经验。
Fabrizio Hochschild graduated from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and is fluent in English, Spanish, German, and French. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General. Earlier in his career, he was the head of the UN Conflict Assessment Group and the Chief of Field Personnel in the Department of Field Support in New York, where he led the comprehensive report on the drivers of conflict in South Sudan and was responsible for the recruitment and management of peacekeeping mission personnel. Since 2022, he has been a senior fellow at several important research institutions, continually dedicated to global peace and security affairs. He has published numerous articles on global peace, including "Development and Benefits of Peace and Peace Justice Dialogues" and "No Persistence, No Peace (on the Colombian Peace Process)." Additionally, he has extensive practical experience and significant contributions in the field of humanitarian affairs. Throughout his career, he has held positions such as head of local offices and humanitarian coordinator for the UN Refugee Agency in locations including South Sudan, Sarajevo, Serbia, and Tanzania, developing humanitarian actions and promoting peacebuilding and sustainable development in various regions. His extensive practical work and theoretical research in peacekeeping and humanitarian affairs have endowed him with rich experience in multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation.
