2) Whether can buy before arriving in China: Most insurance products can only be purchased after arriving in Mainland China.
3) Whether permanent residence in Mainland China is required: Typically, only when the insured live or work in mainland China for more than one year, can they buy life insurance, critical illness insurance or medical insurance, etc. Travel insurance, accident insurance and homeowners insurance usually do not have this requirement.
4) Whether come from High-Risk Countries/Regions: If you come from high-risk countries/regions, as well as those in war or declared emergency, you may not be qualified to buy health insurance, or life insurance, etc.
5) Whether meets occupational standards: Certain insurance (such as accident insurance, life insurance, critical illness insurance, etc.) have buying restrictions in certain occupations. Occupations with a high-risk level may not meet the insurance application standards.
6) Whether enrolled in social insurance: If you have the social insurance in China, you can choose the option “I have social insurance”, which will charge less. If not, this price is not available.
7) Filling in the name correctly: Simple but important! First name first, and then, the last name. The name on the insurance confirmation, the bank card, and the certificate should be the same.
8) Confirm the scope of medical institutions: Many accident insurance and medical insurance will clearly specify the scope of medical institutions, which are generally secondary and the above level public hospitals in Mainland China. We’d better ensure the hospitals you often visit are in the scope of insurance.
