Nanshan Ski Resort

Beijing Ski Resort TransferNanshan Ski Resort (南山滑雪场)is also officially known as Nanshan Ski Village . "Nanshan" literally means "South Mountain" as the ski resort is perched on the northern slope of a mountain called Nanshan (South Mountain). It is located in Miyun County, about 80km in the northeast of Beijing.

Good for Advanced Skiers and Beginners

Nanshan ski resort also distinguishes itself in offering more of everything for the Alpine skier, meaning that here one will find more slopes in all skill categories than anywhere else in China.

Nanshan Ski Resort is also probably the Chinese ski resort when it comes to the availability of skiing and other snow-activity facilities for beginners. If you are a young person who knows nothing whatever about skiing and are looking for a fun place to learn among like-minded young people, Nanshan Ski Resort is your ticket.

Ski Area Transportation:To interconnect your ski trails, Nanshan Ski Resort has been equipped with 2 quadruple chair lifts, a double chair list, 13 drag lifts and 3 magic carpets.

Ski Resort Other Activities:For kids and non-skiers, Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort (Nanshan Ski Village) has much to offer including snow tubes, sledding, Children's snowmobiles. It also has a DIY children's playground.

Snowboarding — A Feature of Nanshan Ski Resort

Nanshan Ski Resort is the largest of its kind in northern China, that is, it is the largest ski resort specializing in snowboarding.

Its snowboarding park, Nanshan Mellow Park, is built in cooperation with the famous Austrian snowboard-park designer, the Mellow Company.

Nanshan Mellow Park is the favorite practice grounds for China's top-competition snowboarders who are preparing themselves, pushing themselves to the limit, for the upcoming Winter Olympics.

6 Eateries

After a full day out on the slopes, do not worry about going hungry. Nanshan Ski Resort offers six different eating establishments.

At the Canadian-style cafe you can enjoy lamb chops by a fireplace.

At the base of the mountain, where the ski resort's main facilities are situated, the Terrace Restaurant & Pub serves Western food, including pizza, and drinks including Chinese beer.

The Nanshan Restaurant, similar to the other traditional Chinese restaurant, specializes in Chinese cuisine, while the Hot Snack Bar serves Chinese snacks and other fast foods.

At the top of the mountain, where the chair lift will deposit you, the Lavender Mini Tea Bar serves coffee, tea, and light snacks.

Essentials to be noticed while skiing

⭕️Get an idea of the length, width, slope degree and trend of the run in order to make reactions to crisis as quickly as possible during sliding.
⭕️Warm-up before skiing is necessary. It can effectively avoid getting hurt. Usually, do warm-up exercises for about half an hour before and after putting on boots and skis.
⭕️Pay attention to the operating hours of the ski lifts. Do not get on the lift when there is no working staff, especially close to the quitting time.
⭕️Choose the ski run properly. Do not be overconfident. For beginners, it is better to ask for help from a skimeister. A 50 meters wide run with a slope of 6 degree is the best for beginners.
⭕️Stop skiing and check whenever there is something wrong with the equipments or unknown condition about way to the front. Do not take risks.
⭕️Keep a distance with other skiers in case of collision and falling down.
⭕️Have a break in the edge of a run and watch to see other skiers sliding down.
⭕️Falling is inevitable and it is a deliberate action to avoid further danger sometimes. Don't be frightened, but remember to keep as low as possible. Try to sit backwards and avoid headlong falling and tumbling over. Do not move when you get hurt but wait for assistance.
⭕️Skiers having bad eyesight should wear light and safe glasses in case of crash. When contact lenses drop down behind the eyelid because of falling down, it is almost impossible to get them back.
⭕️Keep warm, especially children. People with heart disease, hypertension or other illness least suitable to have strenuous exercises had better not try skiing.

Don't know how to ski? Want a professional coach? The ski resort also provides ski teaching services, please see the table below for prices (for reference only)
