ITINERARY
We will spend the whole day there and enjoy the spectacular scenery.Magnificent images have surfaced of a vast waterfall in a mountainous region of China completely enveloped in ice.The intricate frozen formations look as though they have been carved with a knife.
08:30｜We will pick you up at the meeting points in the morning according to the schedule, and set off all the way to Miyun, the suburbs of Beijing. The bus drive will take 2.5 hours if no traffic jam and we will arrive at around 10:30.
10:30 | Arrive at Yunmeng Mountain Heilongtan Scenic Spot. In the long canyon with a total length of 4 kilometers and a water level drop of 220 meters, there are ice hangings of different lengths, sizes, and shapes, and the ice flowers are crystal clear. The active mountain spring waterfalls are now frozen into the wonders of ice waterfalls. Jade carvings are scattered all over the canyon. On the moutain paths, all kinds of wind chimes sway gently in the Heilongtan Gorge, tinkling with the wind, and sounded all over the valley.Here, you can see many Internet celebrities and take pictures.
14:30pm｜Return time
We will return Beijing after 14:30 and arrive at around 16:30pm.

About the area：
Located in Shicheng Town, Miyun County in the northeast suburb of Beijing, the Black Dragon Pool, Heilongtan in Chinese, is about 62 miles (100 kilometers) from the city center of Beijing. The scenic area extends into the luxuriant Gulu Valley with a length of 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) and a drop of water level reaching 720 feet (220 meters). Featuring wonderful water scenery, it is an amazing summer resort for nature lovers.
Three waterfalls and eighteen pools, with unique characteristics, are scattered along the serpentine watercourse, creating changing scenes as visitors progress along the valley.
Heilongtan is one of the few scenic spots in Beijing that is open in winter. This year's ice waterfalls, ice flowers, and ice shoots in the mountains have increased by nearly a thousand square meters compared with last year.
Legend about Black Dragon Pool
There is a legend which tells us that in ancient times, there were two dragons living in the valley. When they divided up the family property and lived apart, the kind black dragon left their magnificent home, the White Dragon Pool, to his little brother the white dragon. He proceeded to the desolate Gulu Valley alone. The black dragon worked day and night to transform the wild valley. The local mountain god wanted to help the black dragon, so he gave him a colored ribbon and eighteen pearls. The black dragon cast the eighteen pearls into the valley, and there and then they became pools of crystal water.
Ice and Snow Wind Chime Festival of Black Dragon Pool
There were rustling sounds in the ears, and strings of wind chimes swayed in the wind.At the Black Dragon Pool Ice and Snow Wind Chime Festival, tens of thousands of wind chimes sounded together, the sound is crisp and ethereal, as if it can take away the impetuousness in people's hearts.
The annual Black Dragon Pond Ice and Snow Wind Chime Festival has begun from the first day of the year. As an old scenic spot in Beijing, Heilongtan is a good place for Beijingers to enjoy themselves and pray for blessings in winter.
This year ice and snow wind chime festival is already the seventh. And there will be nearly 20,000 wind chimes for tourists to enjoy this year. Multiple activities has also been added such as parent-child travel, Photo taking in Traditional Chinese costume, sketching on sight, Blessing wind chimesl and other activities to enrich the visiting.
The combination of ancient and modern makes people intoxicated in the beauty of Heilongtan.
