该片以中国新疆维吾尔族自治区阿勒泰地区布尔津县禾木乡喀纳斯村为背景，讲述了来自乌梁海蒙古族男孩博克继承中国蒙古族音乐的故事。
由于受舅舅旦布尔（旱獭乐队队长）的影响，博克从小对蒙古音乐和图瓦语着迷。他在舅舅的指导下学习制作和演奏楚尔（Tsuur），同时帮助叔叔经营民宿生意。与此同时，由于乔伦巴特老人（中国国家级非物质文化遗产传承人）回到了冬牧场，旦布尔决定将他的侄子博克托付给乔伦巴特，让他对博克进楚尔（Tsuur）的系统教育。
“Tsuur”在蒙古语中意为“回声”、“共鸣”，是阿勒泰地区蒙古族音乐中世代传承的一种传统乐器。在两年多的时间里，从选材、采摘原材料到制作成乐器，三代人共同培养博克对楚尔（Tsuur）的兴趣，鼓励年轻一代向大师学习。这种传承就仿佛阿尔泰山脉中楚尔发出的回声，看似简单的传承方式已经安静地在这里延续了数百年。
这部纪录片记录了阿勒泰蒙古人的音乐与他们的生活、民间传说甚至仪式之间的生态互动。阿勒泰地区多民族聚居，社会结构多元化，在交织的历史文化和语言环境中不断建构出了现在的文化特质。这些隐藏在山林之中的地方遗产，是一个民族在历史上存在的活生生的证据。即使许多文化还尚未呈现给当代社会，在那些看不见的角落里，即将消逝的文化不断地带走我们的印记。
SYNOPSIS：
Focusing on the village of Kanas in Womu Township,Burqin County, Altay Region, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, this film presents a story of Boke - a young Mongolian boy from Wulianghai (a tribe in Altay)- inheriting Tsuur music.
Because of his uncle Dambul (the leader of Marmot Band), Boke has been fascinated by Mongolian music and Tsuur since childhood. He learned how to make and play Tsuur under the guidance of his uncle while helping him with the homestay business. In the meantime, since the old man Qorumbat (Inheritor of China National Intangible Cultural Heritage) had returned to the pasture in winter, Dambul decided to entrust his nephew, Boke, to Qorumbat for a systematic education of Tsuur.
Tsuur, which means "echo" and “resonance” in Mongolian, constitutes the core of Mongolian music tradition and heritage across generations in the Altay. Over two years, from selecting materials and picking plants, to crafting the instrument, three generations have welcomed the resonance of Tsuur in the Altai Mountains by nurturing a fascination with Tsuur and encouraging the younger generation to learn the skills from masters. This seemingly simple way of perpetuating heritage has continued quietly for hundreds of years.
The film documents the ecological interactions between the music of the Altay Mongols and their life, folklore and even rituals. The Altay region has a diversified social structure with multi-ethnic settlements, and it is constructing its own culture continually in the intertwined historical and cultural contexts. These local heritage- hidden in the mountains and yet to be presented to the contemporary society- are the living proofs of the existence of an ethnic group in history. In those unseen corners, cultures which are about to fade and disappear will take away our marks with no nostalgia.
