11月20日与11月21日， 来自洛杉矶的迷幻灵魂乐队 Brainstory 将分别在北京与上海开启他们在中国的首次巡演。Kevin 和 Tony Martin 兄弟 (吉他/主唱和貝斯手)，以及 Eric Hagstrom (鼓手) 共同组成这支以独立音乐家精神与真诚友谊交织的乐队。从甜美的灵魂慢歌，到带有迷幻摇滚色彩的流行歌曲，再到带有70年代流畅爵士 R&B 风格的民谣，他们的音乐见证了流派融合，亦表达着一种对经典爵士乐的超越性和自由性。
On November 20 and 21, the psychedelic soul band Brainstory from Los Angeles will kick off their first tour in China with their new album "SOUNDS GOOD," performing in Beijing and Shanghai respectively. The band is composed of brothers Kevin and Tony Martin (guitar/vocals and bassist) and Eric Hagstrom (drummer), embodying the spirit of independent musicianship and sincere friendship. Their music ranges from sweet soul ballads to pop songs with a psychedelic rock flair, and folk tunes infused with the smooth jazz R&B style of the '70s, showcasing a fusion of genres while expressing a transcendence and freedom that honors classic jazz.

《BUCK》是一种精神状态，一种生活方式，一种让你度过顺境和逆境的举止。

BUCK is a state of mind, a way of life, a demeanor that gets you through good times and bad.
This is the first album from the trio Brainstory after releasing two independent EPs. The album title itself carries special significance—"stripping away all the decorative elements and fearlessly pursuing freedom." Rather than producing cookie-cutter soul music, Brainstory's musical essence is difficult to define. Their inspiration comes from diverse musical genres and is closely connected to their culture, identity, and community.

They navigate through psychedelic brilliance, creating a relaxed and tender atmosphere; deep in the sunlit soul, they explore the relationship between reality and freedom. However, their music is anything but solemn; it's a boundless joy and a drive for liberation.
Music has the power to express the unspeakable. As vocalist Kevin puts it, “We want people to feel our freedom. I think that’s what I was born to do. It’s my covenant with the universe: I want to encourage others to find their own covenant. In that sense, it’s gospel.”

Released during a special time, "Ripe" is a burst of sunshine that breaks free from the gloom of 2020, embodying Brainstory's cheerful and laid-back rhythms.
This instrumental album moves away from the style of their debut album "Buck" in 2019, showcasing more of their jazz roots. "Ripe" draws elements from jazz, hip-hop, 70s funk, 60s soul, and the Southern California lifestyle of 2021, creating a unique balance that belongs to Brainstory.
