Dr. Jun Zhang, PhD in Pediatrics, is chief physician and associate professor of the Department of Oncology at Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. He is mainly engaged in the research of solid tumor-related diseases in children. He is a member of the Pediatric Professional Committee of the Chinese Maternal and Child Health Association and the Pediatrician Alliance Special Committee of the Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Association.  Member, former youth member of the Pediatrics Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association.  In recent years, he has published more than 30 papers in domestic and foreign core journals such as Tumour Biol, Journal of Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Blood Cancer, Hepatology, "Chinese Journal of Pediatric Surgery" and "Journal of Chongqing Medical University", and hosted and completed 4 Chongqing science and technology projects.  Committee subject, obtained 4 national utility model patents, and was selected as "Good Doctor of the Year" at the 2021 Good Doctor Summit.  As the leader of the medical team, he performs more than 300 difficult and large-scale operations every year, and has delivered speeches on children's infusion port technology at the National Pediatric Surgery Annual Conference many times.  Lead the promotion of new and appropriate technologies for children's infusion ports at the National Children's Regional Medical Center.  He has been engaged in clinical medicine teaching at Chongqing Medical University for a long time, and won the title of Outstanding Teacher of Chongqing Medical University in 2023.

Progress in neuroblastoma treatment

Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer that affects children, mostly under the age of 5 years old. It usually starts in the tummy (abdomen) area. Surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy are the main treatments for neuroblastoma. One of the most significant recent developments in the treatment of neuroblastoma is the introduction of an immunotherapy drug called dinutuximab, which was made available on the NHS for children with high-risk neuroblastoma in 2018 following positive clinical trial results. Dr. Xin Gao,结构生物学博士,毕业于英国伦敦大学学院。目前,我在英国伯明翰大学担任博士后研究员。在我的博士学习期间,我专注于结构免疫学领域,对抗体、补体等免疫蛋白的结构与功能进行了深入研究。我的工作通过开创性的结构分析,显著促进了对疾病分子层面的理解。我在将实验和计算模拟分析相结合进行蛋白质结构分析、糖链优化和分子模拟方面具有特别的专长。例如,在我的博士研究中,我首次解析了用于吸入式新冠疫苗的新型纳米抗体的液态结构,为后续治疗性和疫苗性抗体的研发奠定了基础。

C5-Fc纳米抗体的溶液结构揭示了对COVID-19抗原相互作用最优的暴露可变区

与传统抗体相比,重链仅抗体具有更高的结合亲和力、更小的尺寸和更高的稳定性。为应对SARS-CoV-2冠状病毒的挑战,之前开发了一种来源于羊驼的单域纳米抗体C5,具有很高的COVID-19病毒中和效力。融合蛋白C5-Fc包括两个连接到人IgG1抗体糖基化Fc区域的C5结构域,并在体内显示出治疗效果。在此,我们对该分子的溶液排列进行了表征。







Junyue Huang completed a MRes in Molecular and Cellular Biosciences at Imperial College, before starting her PhD in IMSR. She is working on the transcriptional networks in pancreatic beta cells under the supervision of Dr Ildem Akerman.

Understanding the roles of novel transcription factors in pancreatic beta cell development

 Junyue’s talk will cover the background of her PhD project, in which she is focusing on unravelling the molecular pathways governing pancreatic beta cell development. By understanding the roles of novel transcription factors, her project aims to enhance the functionality of stem cell-derived beta cells (sBCs) during their production for clinical applications.

靶向TRAIP的癌症治疗方法

The research described in this proposal aims to understand the activity of TRAIP ubiquitin ligase in normal and cancerous cells. As such our research will improve understanding of the contribution of this essential enzyme to genome stability, which is crucial for cell and organism survival. Our project is positioned at the fundamental stage of knowledge generation and will enhance our understanding of the essential process of DNA replication and cellular pathways preventing genomic instabilities, but also provide insight into the development and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, cancer and ageing processes. It will produce a number of important research outputs which will be of benefit to academic and industry stakeholders with opportunity for capacity building and training. In the long term, our work may lead to benefits for health and wellbeing, in particular for neurodegeneration and cancer medicine, and may become of interest to releva
