Soaring as high as 768 meters and 400 meters away from the bottom of the cliff, Shilinxia UFO Glass Viewing Platform spans 32.8 meters in the air and possesses of a 415-square-meter platform. It is so far the world’s largest glass observing platform. 

Come and get a taste of great excitement when you soar over the one-hundred-meter cliff. Walking on it with splendid and verdant mountains underfoot, you would freak out with a look down at the steep cliffs and deep valleys under feet.

 Meet your trip mates and enjoy the exciting Glass Passages in Beijing's Suburb.

Meet at the meeting points(meeting time shown below) at in the morning. Leave for Glass viewing platform(2h) and arrive at 10:00am. You may enjoy your time, take cool pictures or choose some entertainments there.We will be back to City center around 6-7pm.

At the end of the article, there is a tour introduction of scenic spots.

The glass sightseeing platform, billed as “Flying Disk/UFO”, opened to the public on April 30, 2016.

The transparent sightseeing platform is 800 meters above sea level and 400 meters high from the bottom of the cliff, a thriller for visitors who want to experience the excitement walking in the sky.

The 415-square-meter platform soars 33 meters from the mountainside, offering a top view of the scenic site in every sense. The platform exceeds the Grand Canyon Skywalk by 11.4 meters.

Yet the vistas it affords are quite different.

Shilinxia translates as Stone Forest Gorge - for good reason. This swathe of the Huangsongyu Geopark bristles with stone spires that resemble thickets of tremendous trees.

The UFO offers a high-level platform for viewing this unearthly terrain.

The 12-square-kilometer scenic area is shaped not only by its thrusting rock quills but also by such other otherworldly marvels as the Jiutan Flying Waterfall, from which ribbons of water flutter 120 meters down four tiers.

The 6-km gorge is exceedingly slender. The belt of lowland between sheer bluffs tightens to just 3 meters at its slimmest. The earth whittles the sky into a silver sliver.

The area is littered with boulders that can surpass 1,000 tons. It's as if it were mighty nature gods' shot put arena.

Cypresses uncoil from cliffs. Twisted trunks unravel outward horizontally while their roots clench vertical precipices. These trees seem to defy gravity and testify to the tenacity of life.

When arriving at Shilinxia Scenic Area,  you have two ways to go up on to the glass platform – Walking up or taking the cable up.

It is over one and half hours’ strenuous walk from the valley bottom up to the platform. But even if you choose to take cable up, you still need to scramble up for about 20 minutes from the upper cable station before you get to the platform.
