今年的Matariki毛利新年是6月28日。6月26和27日，新西兰驻广州总领事馆、基督城国际机场、新西兰旅游局和中国南方航空在“你好，南岛”南岛旅游产品推介会期间，在广州和深圳携手举办以庆祝毛利新年的晚宴，迎接毛利新年的到来。
28 June this year marks Matariki, the Māori New Year. On 26 June and 27 June, the New Zealand Consulate-General, Guangzhou joined with Christchurch International Airport, Tourism New Zealand and China Southern Airlines for co-hosting Matariki celebration gala dinners during the "Kia Ora South" South Island tourism promotion campaign in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
同期举办的“Kia Ora South 你好，南岛”新西兰南岛旅游产品推介会再次在华南拉开了序幕。本次新西兰南岛旅游推介更是重视华南市场，不仅在广州，还首次在深圳举办南岛旅游推介专场，与华南地区的旅游业者分享最新的南岛旅游资讯。
The "Kia Ora South" New Zealand South Island tourism promotional events, held at the same time, kicked off in South China once again. New Zealand South Island tourism promotion attaches great importance to the South China market, therefore, the event was not only held in Guangzhou, but also in Shenzhen for the first time. The events shared the latest South Island tourism information with local tourism providers in South China.
今年，“你好，南岛”旅游推介会广州场和深圳场嘉宾晚宴迎来了非常特别且有意义的主题—庆祝新西兰的毛利新年。
This year's gala dinners at the Guangzhou and Shenzhen venues of Kia Ora South also featured a special Matariki theme to celebrate the Māori New Year.
毛利新年是新西兰年历里一个特别的日子。在五月底六月初，当玛塔里基（Matariki）星团再次出现在清晨的夜空中，它标志着毛利农历里新的一年的开始。毛利新年是回顾过往一年，庆祝当下，并为来年计划的好时机。2022年是毛利新年首次正式成为新西兰的公共假期。
Matariki is a special occassion in the New Zealand calendar. It is marked by the constellation of Matariki stars reappearing in the dawn sky during late May to early June, signalling the start of the new year according to the Māori lunar calendar. It is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future. In 2022, the New Zealand Government recognized Matariki as a public holiday.
新西兰驻广州总领事柯瑞秋女士在致辞中表示，把毛利新年定为新西兰公众假期反映了新西兰对我们自身独特的，共有的身份，以及毛利文化在新西兰社会中日益重要的角色的承诺。毛利新年让所有新西兰人，不论大家来自什么背景，都可相聚在一起，共同庆祝和回首过往。
Ms Rachel Crump, New Zealand Consul-General, commented that the decision to establish Matariki as a public holiday reflects New Zealand's commitment to our unique, shared identity, and the increased role of tikanga Māori, or Māori culture, in New Zealand society. Matariki provides an opportunity for all New Zealanders, regardless of background, to come together in celebration and reflection.
在庆祝晚宴中，来自新西兰南岛纳塔胡（Ngāi Tahu）毛利部落的代表Nicole Manawatu-Brennan向大家介绍毛利新年对新西兰毛利人的文化重要性。
Nicole Manawatu-Brennan, from Ngāi Tahu spoke about the cultural significance of Matariki for tangata whenua, the Māori people of New Zealand.
毛利表演团在庆祝晚宴中为大家表演新西兰毛利歌曲，并送上毛利新年的祝福。
Kapa Haka group performed waiata and also Matariki karakia at the Matariki celebration dinners.
作为目前中国国内唯一一条执飞从中国到新西兰南岛直航的航司，中国南方航空营销委主任助理陈涛东先生和深圳分公司副总经理侯明先生分别在广州场和深圳场代表南航致辞。南航将从2024年10月起，恢复广州至基督城的直飞航班，每周五班，为期五个月。
As the only domestic carrier currently connecting China to the South Island of New Zealand, China Southern Airlines Assistant Director General Mr Chen Tao Dong, and Hou Ming, Vice President of China Southern Shenzhen Branch, delivered remarks on behalf of China Southern Airlines at the Guangzhou and Shenzhen dinners respectively. China Southern will resume direct flights from Guangzhou to Christchurch from October 2024, with five flights per week, for five months.

“你好，南岛”暨毛利新年庆祝晚宴在广州场和深圳场分别吸引了约100位嘉宾出席，来自广东政府部门的领导和代表们，包括省外办副主任李宏志先生、广州市外办副主任邓昌雄先生、深圳市外办主任曹赛先女士等，还有来自商业、教育和旅游业界、新西兰社区和海归们参加了广州场和深圳场的庆祝晚宴。
The “Kia Ora South” and Matariki celebration dinners in Guangzhou and Shenzhen attracted around 100 guests from Guangdong government departments, including Mr Li Hongzhi, Deputy Director of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, Mr Deng Changxiong, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, and Madame Cao Saixian, Director General of the Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office, as well as from the business, education and tourism sectors, the New Zealand community and alumni to the events in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
