Accor Greater China is pleased to announce the opening of two new destinations for its growing portfolio of Grand Mercure Hotels & Resorts. Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake and Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi are now open, following the recent opening of Grand Mercure Wuhan International Expo Center. Accor currently has a portfolio of 22 Grand Mercure hotels open and operating in the country – accounting for over a third of the brand’s global portfolio – and nearly 50 additional addresses in development.

“As Grand Mercure Hotels & Resorts continues to grow in the hearts and minds of Chinese travelers, we are excited to open these two highly popular destinations. Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake and Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi are tailored to deliver authentic experiences of these vibrant and dynamic communities,” said Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China. “By showcasing local rituals and immersive experiences, these strategically located new hotels inspire local guests to rediscover their culture and travelers from afar to gain a deeper understanding of these regions. We look forward to building on the momentum of these artistically expressive hotels with a plan to double our Grand Mercure portfolio in more key destinations across Greater China over the next three years.”

Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake

Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake is ideally situated next to the tranquil and picturesque Qingshan Lake, a popular destination of ecological richness for tourists as well as locals of Hangzhou. The area is a fascinating mix of historical significance and progressive growth, deeply rooted in Wuyue culture, celebrating the rich heritage of the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. Aligning with Hangzhou’s focus on technological innovation and industry, the Qingshan Lake community is also gaining prominence as a high-tech center of business, while retaining its connection to the natural beauty of Hangzhou. The hotel not only provides premium accommodations but also embraces sustainable practices, ensuring that guests can enjoy the stunning environment responsibly.

Surrounded by mountains, lakes, and open wilderness, the hotel features panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in each of its 177 spacious and elegant guest rooms, allowing guests to admire the shimmering blue waves of the lake and the lush, and rolling mountains. Its prime location offers convenient transportation, with only a three-minute drive to the Qingshan Lake Scenic Area and a one hour drive from the popular West Lake area.

Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi

Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi is a premium business hotel in the vibrant Changzhou Airport district. Changzhou is increasingly known as a center of expertise for new energy, with additional focus on smart manufacturing, culture and tourism, and ecology. Within the new energy industry cluster of northwest Changzhou, Luoxi stands out as an important economic hub of air transport.

The hotel is just five kilometers from the airport and a half hour drive from the Changzhou High-Speed Railway North Station. Adjacent to the hotel is the MOOC Star Shopping Mall, a popular landmark that integrates shopping, leisure, entertainment, and social spaces. With 182 guestrooms, the hotel’s champagne gold and Chinese red design delivers a discerning, cultured, and authentic local experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and modern advancements of Changzhou.

Each Grand Mercure destination offers an immersive experience that celebrates national culture and stimulates the senses. Guests are invited to connect with the destination’s regional heritage through locally inspired culinary and beverage ceremonies, wellbeing traditions, and thoughtful design. Both Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake and Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi feature a variety of restaurants, bars, and lounges, as well as Executive Lounges and advanced fitness facilities. Event planners and conference organizers will find ample meeting and event space at both properties, with a 2,500 square meter pillarless grand ballroom at Grand Mercure Changzhou Luoxi and a total of 4,000 square meter of meeting space at Grand Mercure Hangzhou Qingshan Lake. Equipped with advanced technology and smart systems, these new Grand Mercure destinations are ideal for creating inspiring, delightful and immersive meetings, weddings, and celebrations.

With four more Grand Mercure destinations set to open by the end of 2024, Accor continues to expand the brand’s presence in Greater China, celebrating cultural heritage with each new address. Upcoming openings include Lushan, Sanya Yalong Bay, Kunming, and Shiyan.
