An eco-cooperation agreement for the semiconductor industry was signed during the opening ceremony of the SEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Expo at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District on October 16th.

Led by the Shenzhen Semiconductor and Integrated Circuit Alliance (SICA),  nine key organizations pledged support for the agreement. The initiative is designed to expedite the evolution of a new industrial ecosystem with a focus on upstream-downstream collaboration, thereby driving the integrated circuit industry towards high-quality and sustainable development.

The three-day event, which will run through Friday, is China's only exhibition that encompasses the entire semiconductor industry chain, according to organizer SICA. Covering an area of 45,000 square meters, the expo features an extensive array of state-of-the-art technologies, groundbreaking innovations, new products, solutions, and market applications from across the global semiconductor sector.

The expo is expected to attract over 30,000 professional buyers and visitors. More than 20 specialized forums are planned during the exop, bringing together industry leaders, experts, scholars, and corporate executives to explore technological trends and discus the future of the industry.

Attendees will be immersed in the forefront of semiconductor technology and application trends through live demonstrations by exhibitors and technology forums.

Shenzhen now hosts 654 integrated circuit enterprises, according to the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Association. The scale of Shenzhen's integrated circuit industry surpasses 200 billion yuan (US$28.11 billion), accounting for 80% of the total output value of integrated circuits in Guangdong Province.

"This exhibition creates a platform for precise connections between upstream and downstream supply and demand,” said Priyasha Sharma, an Indian manager at a semiconductor supply chain company in Shenzhen.

“The most impressive part of the expo was the pavilions of different districts of Shenzhen. It is great to see the innovative solutions, introduction to different technology parks, and different forums held on the future developments in the GBA in the semiconductor supply chain,” she told Shenzhen Daily.
