张琦博士现任香港理工大学尹振宇教授课题组研究助理教授。他在斯坦福大学获得土木与环境工程硕士和博士学位(博士导师是Prof. Ronaldo I. Borja, Acta Geotechnica & IJNAG 期刊主编和2016年ASCE Biot Medal获得者),并在同济大学获得土木工程学士学位(毕业论文指导教师为朱合华院士)。张琦的研究兴趣在于岩土多孔介质的渗流和变形特性,例如渗流机制的多样性、多孔常数的完备性、多场耦合方法的创新拓展等。他以第一或通讯作者身份在国际知名期刊上(Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, Acta Geotechnica, International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Computers and Geotechnics, Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, Energy & Fuels)发表了20多篇学术论文,引用次数超过500次,H指数为14。他获得了中国岩石力学与工程学会颁发的2016年优秀毕业设计(论文)奖,以及香港大学教育资助委员会颁发的2022-2023年度博士后奖学金(全港所有学科和大学中仅25位非本地获奖者)。他受邀担任国际会议ICCES 2023 和ASCE EMI 2024 IC 分会场召集人和ASCE EMI 2024 IC科学委员会成员。他还曾担任《浙江大学学报A辑》特刊“岩土工程中的多尺度多物理场建模”的客座编辑。当前合作指导过2名博士生和本科毕业设计。

Dr. Qi Zhang will join the University of Macau (ranked 180 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025) as a tenure-track assistant professor of Geotechnical Engineering in January 2025. He plans to recruit two Ph.D. students for admission in the Autumn (1st semester) of 2025. The selected candidates will be awarded a four-year UM Ph.D. Assistantship with a monthly salary of 12,500 MOP. Students with an excellent academic background will also be considered for the UM Ph.D. Scholarship, which offers a monthly salary of 20,000 MOP. In addition, Dr. Zhang has a one-year research assistant (RA) position available, with a monthly salary of 15,000 MOP. The anticipated start time for the RA position is Spring 2025, but this is negotiable. Qi Zhang is currently a research assistant professor in Geoinvention group of Prof. Zhen-Yu Yin at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Geomechanics from Stanford University and B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering from Tongji University. For research interests, Dr. Zhang is interested in understanding and controlling the fundamental poro-mechanical processes that determine the formation and recovery of earth resources from sedimentary rocks to achieve energy and environmental sustainability. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles in international prestigious journals as first or corresponding author, with more than 500 citations and an H-index of 14. For his research contributions, he has received the 2016 Excellent Graduation Design (Thesis) Award by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering and 2022-2023 RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (25 international awardees from all subjects and all HK universities) by the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong. He delivered a keynote talk at the 2022 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International Outstanding Young Scholar Forum of China University of Petroleum (East China). He has organized several mini-symposia at prestigious international conferences such as ICCES 2023 and EMI-ASCE 2024. He is a reviewer for various prestigious international journals and a guest editor of the special issue entitled “Multiscale multiphysics modeling in geotechnical engineering” in Journal of Zhejiang University-SCIENCE A. He has co-supervised two Ph.D. students and several undergraduate Final Year Project students.

1. The candidate should hold (or be about to receive) a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, engineering mechanics, applied mechanics, or other related fields.
2. The candidate should possess a solid foundation in mathematics and mechanics. Coding experience in FEM/FVM/MPM/SPH is preferred.
3. The candidate should be honest, capable of conducting independent research, and possess strong communication and English writing skills.
