Task Description:
The Online Volunteers will be asked to support the office’s private-sector partnership efforts in three main ways (and assigned with one of the following tasks accordingly):
perform a variety of quantitative and qualitative research and analytical activities for potential private sector and high-net-worth individual (incl. family office) funders;
synthesize research findings and analyses into visual outputs and documents (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, etc.); and
provide coordination and logistics support to the team that entails helping develop agendas, and prepare briefing notes on VIP guests.
While Online Volunteers will support remotely, the volunteers are expected to be online for 16-20 hours per week during regular business hours and able to commit to 10-12 weeks for this role. The Online Volunteers will communicate and exchange information with the team over e-mail, Teams, and other channels. The Online Volunteers will also be expected to participate in virtual team meetings and report to the Public and Private Sector Partnership Specialists.

It's a short-term, task-based and non-contractual remote assignment; Online Volunteers are not UN Volunteers and do not receive any allowance or entitlements as part of the Online Volunteer assignment but receive a certificate of appreciation after successful completion. In addition, UNV is not involved in the selection process or collaboration.

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
Context
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women’s China Office in Beijing supports and carries out work on (i) enhancing women's economic empowerment (WEE); (ii) ending violence against women (EVAW); (iii) innovative work to address gender issues in China (QWFIS);(iv) contributing to gender equality and women’s empowerment in China (CGF) and (v) using media to promote gender equality (Communication). In addition to the above, UN Women also actively participates and contributes to various UN inter-agency processes and collaborates with UN organizations around specific programme areas. To that end, UN Women China Office intends to engage qualified Online Volunteers through this assignment. The Online Volunteers will support the Partnerships team and are expected to deliver on a timely, quality, and results-oriented approach in order to support the partnerships and resource mobilization efforts of the UN Women China Office – including the engagement of WEPs signatories in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in China and globally.
