SQE考试启用后，在英国做大状和做事务律师的道路开始分叉，大状依然要求候选人具备普通法本科或经认证的同等学位（JD/GDL），并学习以下主要实践技能模块：
Civil Litigation:
To provide knowledge, understanding and the ability to apply and evaluate the rules of civil litigation and resolution of disputes out of court.
Criminal Litigation Evidence and Sentencing:
To provide knowledge, understanding and the ability to apply and evaluate the rules of criminal procedure, evidence and sentencing.
Professional Ethics:
To introduce and develop the knowledge and applications of the key ethical and professional conduct issues and behaviours that underpin practice at the Bar.
Professional Practice:
The Professional Practice unit (PPU) develops understanding of wellbeing and improves resilience and confidence to be able to thrive either at the Bar or in a professional career. The PPU creates opportunity to develop employability links with the legal and non-legal professional community, increases understanding of the high standards of the legal profession and develops community awareness and reflective leadership skills.
Conference Skills:
To introduce and develop the skills necessary to prepare for, structure, take instructions and advise a client in conference.
Opinion Writing and Legal Research:
To introduce and develop the skills to carry out legal research and provide written advice to the Instructing Solicitor and lay client.
Advocacy (Civil):
To introduce and develop the skills necessary to prepare, present and respond to a case or legal argument before a court or other tribunal in a civil context.
Drafting:
To introduce and develop the skills of drafting statements of case to be used at different stages of legal proceedings.
Advocacy (Criminal):
To introduce and develop the skills necessary to prepare, present and respond to a case or legal argument before a court or other tribunal in a criminal context. To provide the skills necessary to examine witnesses (examination in chief and cross-examination in a criminal context).
接下来是几组关键数据：
1. 2023年度学徒补助（Pupillage Funding）
23,078英镑每年每人，补贴给雇佣新学徒的Chambers。这一举措使得女性和少数族裔学徒在财政依靠法律援助（Legal aid）或收费普遍较低的执业领域扩大机会，例如刑事、家事、移民领域。
2. 大律师学徒构成
年龄方面，77%学徒在25岁以下，16%在25-34岁，剩余的为35岁以上人士；
地区及族裔方面，越半数白人，亚裔25%，黑人10%；在训练前并非居住在英国的人群中90%是亚裔，之前非惯常居住在英国的学徒占比约一半；
男女比例方面，女性约52%，男性29%，剩余为其他性别。
3.学霸含量
国际生中，学徒的一等荣誉比例升至35%，Upper Second Class二类甲等及以上的总计占比达到88%。
4. 大律师实习之前的培训课程费用
增幅主要是英国严重的通货膨胀所致，目前一年的培训费用17,000英镑。
