About this position
I am offering one position in my project “Processing massive string data and beyond:algorithms and conditional lower bounds”, funded by the National Science Centre.
The position is intended for 12 months (with an option for extension), starting in November 2024 (flexible).
The project aims to further our understanding of some major open questions in the area of algorithms on strings, motivated by possible applications in bioinformatics. To this end, it will combine tools from combinatorics on words, algorithms and data structures in the Word RAM model, and finally the emerging field of fine-grained complexity.
The position comes with full-time employment with a gross salary of around 8900 PLN and allows for a reasonably comfortable living in Wroclaw. It also includes basic health insurance, a year-end bonus, and travel funds. The candidate should hold a PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics, and fulfill other formal requirements of the National Science Centre.
Application date
Each position will remain open until a good candidate is found, but at least until September 30, 2024. I aim at selecting the candidate in October.
