One small step for Madams,
One giant leap for the World.
夫人一小步,世界一大步
Hi, I am WeiLi Duan-Young, I am the World Madam Chinese Division Overall Champion.
I was born in Shandong, China, with a family history of extreme poverty. My mom joined the army at the age of 16, becoming the first person in our family to leave the village.
I came to America in the early 1990s and received a Master’s degree in Behavioral Psychology from Southern Illinois University. At that time, my graduate program was ranked second in the U.S, and I became the first Chinese Board Certified Behavior Analyst worldwide.
In 1999, I founded my own counseling clinic. Later it became one of the largest mental health centers in Central Florida, housing a team of nearly 500 professionals and serving over 20,000 families. Additionally, I authored three best-selling books to help children with Autism.
In 2011, representing Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, I visited Guilin, China. Later, I was received by former U.S. President, Bill Clinton, and afterwards became an international advisor for the US Global Leadership Coalition.
In 2012, I was profiled by Central Florida’s Orange Appeal Magazine as one of the "Most Noteworthy Women”.
Despite appearing successful to the outside world, I found myself struggling through a profound spiritual crisis. I frequently pondered: What’s the purpose of my life?
At the age of 42, I embarked on a self-discovery journey and for the first time in my life, I heard "The secret of living is giving.” This statement became a beacon in my life.
In 2013, upon an invitation from the UAE government, I opened the Doris Duan-Young Autism Center in Dubai. The center received “Excellence Awards” from the Dubai government in 2019 and 2020.
Serving and contributing have become a central part of my life.
As part of a nonprofit project, I helped provide backpacks, raincoats and study materials to two hundred children in Fiji.
In Kenya, Africa, I assisted in constructing a primary school and delivered food and educational supplies to seven hundred local children.
My friends and I established the Fiji Youth Leadership Summit Fund, sponsoring teenagers to attend a Global Youth Leadership Summit in San Diego, U.S.A.
I've led my children to engage in charitable activities from a young age.During one Thanksgiving, my children joined my company staff delivering dinner to three hundred families in need.
We fundraised for and delivered education supplies to two schools in Shandong, China, and Cancun, Mexico. In the latter, we also helped build a skateboard area for an orphanage.Additionally, we hosted the young African delegates at our home in America.
Beginning in 2014, I was invited to give lectures on family happiness and women's growth at the universities of Harvard, Tsinghua, Fudan, and Jiao Tong .
After 30 years of being happily married, my husband, my king, has remained the strongest support in my life.
One of my biggest hobbies is traveling. My husband and I have taken our children to nearly 30 countries. The global perspective we have gained has instilled a deep sense of gratitude within us.
Despite all the excitement in my life, I remember to leave time for yoga and meditation.
From this space of inner peace, I co-founded Athena Sisterhood with my then 14-year-old daughter amidst the global pandemic in 2020. We grew to a global community of over 1,600 sisters and were able to save 18 girls from sex trafficking from our Global Online Summit.
In the summer of 2023, together with my now 17-year-old daughter, we created two charitable leadership summer camps in Shanghai and Shandong, China, changing the lives of forty girls.
Kevin Watkins:"For more than ten years now I have applauded WeiLi this amazing and inspiring lady, giving everything of herself to energize communities, societies, and women across the world. "
Christine Forment:"I am very thankful to WeiLi because she has empowered me, and helped many thousands of women to overcome their fears."
Gary Ng:"She wasn't a typical entrepreneur that is money-driven. In fact, she doesn't focus on money at all. She focuses on serving and giving."
Dick Batchelor:"I've been involved with her in the Clinton Foundation. I'm really proud of what she's doing with global feminine leadership. She really practices what she preaches. She's very loving, peaceful, giving. She shows great gratitude."
Lisa McLeod:"She is the embodiment of her work. She's a an entrepreneur, she's a wife she's a mother, and one of the things I've Learned from her ,is just how to integrate all those things and really lead the kind of fulfilling life that you deserve."
Thank you, Chairwoman Annie, for initiating this event.
We all meant to shine like children do. We are born to manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. Thank you.
