Title: Claims Specialist, Greater China P&C
Location: Beijing
Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world's largest reinsurer, is seeking a claims specialist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to claims management across the Greater China, leveraging technical expertise, fostering collaboration, and advancing efficient claim resolutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, in addition to a good understanding of insurance processes.
The position is based in Beijing and reports to Head of Claims, Greater China P&C.
YOUR ROLE
Oversee claims systems and data management, ensuring accuracy, compliance with data protection regulations, and efficient cross-border handling. This includes running reports, analyzing loss data, and maintaining claims-related tasks and systems.
Provide technical expertise in claims assessments, participate in site inspections, and prepare internal reports for large losses.
Contribute to business initiatives and new product development based on market needs.
Manage claims reporting requests from regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
Review claims below certain thresholds to ensure compliance with service standards and performance levels, with particular attention to "key words" triggered claims.
Analyze claims trends and provide insights into market intelligence and emerging risks.
Support catastrophe and outlier event monitoring and assist with Munich Re’s exposure estimation.
Conduct claims audits, reviews, and due diligence for clients and participate in market meetings as required.
Provide support for claims management across the Greater China region (Mainland of China, Hong Kong,Taiwan) within the allocated portfolio, ensuring efficient and effective claims resolution.
Support the implementation of the new Global Claims Set-up and contribute to the advancement of Munich Re’s Global Claims Ambition 2025+.
Build and enhance knowledge in reinsurance and claims management, establishing a deep understanding of Munich Re Greater China’s business portfolio.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and brokers in the region, contributing to business development and strategic initiatives.
YOUR PROFILE
University degree or equivalent formal qualification. Experience in the insurance industry, claims management, or loss adjusting is an advantage.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
Willingness to travel as required.
