September: it’s time to return to the cinema. Tuesday 24 September, the short film È stato un sogno premieres at the Anteo cinema in Milan. The project is the result of the talent of OffiCine-IED students, as part of the Higher Education film workshop.

The leads in the short film are the young actors Francesco Buttironi and Rossella Cammarano, flanked by emblematic figures of Italian theater and cinema, such as Luigi Diberti and Ida Marinelli, under the direction of Stefano Balossi

An exceptional team worked on the production: Silvio Soldini was artistic supervisor, while prominent teachers contributed to the project. Bruno Oliviero wrote the screenplay, Luca Bigazzi was in charge of the photography, Carlotta Cristiani and Giorgio Garini the editing, directed by Paolo Borraccetti.

The project received the support of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, an experimental laboratory that has been active for 25 years in promoting young talents thanks to the SaloneSatellite. This event is an important opportunity to explore synergies between culture and society leading to new fusions.

È stato un sogno does not feature an epic plot or majestic sets. The Salone urged the students to reflect on what it means to build beauty and community through relationships. The result is a twofold interpretation: physical, with objects and furnishings that invite a sharing of moments and lives, and immaterial, through the encounter, a metaphor for a possible communion of intents.

Co-starring in the movie was a selection of furnishings from Amini, Arper, Artemide, Colos, Desalto, Flos, Kartell, Lago, Lema, Living Divani, Magis, Molteni&C, Poliform and Secto Design, companies that generously made a product of their own available to furnish the living room at the center of the short film.

Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, said: “I chose to study set design because I saw it as a total art capable of bringing together literature, architecture, precise design. So it was really exciting to view this short film and know that I had contributed to it by supporting the students who made it thanks to the Salone del Mobile.Milano and some of its most important exhibitors. Our purpose is never just educational. What the Salone seeks to do by reaching schools and universities is to facilitate creative exchanges and culture-driven innovation, and help the next generation of international professionals to emerge and fulfil their talents.”

After the premiere in Milan, È stato un sogno will be distributed in the main national and international film festivals.
