从天水到敦煌，一路向西历经千里的河西走廊是沧桑的历史，斑珀的画作，时空的变换。一骑绝尘的霍去病，坚韧不拔的张骞，投笔从戎的班超，一生三嫁为国解忧的解忧公主是名垂青史的历史人物，是孩子们心中初识的偶像。莫高窟的五百强盗成佛图，榆林窟的水月观音，炳灵寺并座的二佛是佛教艺术的经典，是褪色的瑰宝，是老师们图文并茂的知识点，是孩子们笔下迥异的画作。“春风不度玉门关“，“西出阳关无故人”，“醉卧沙场君莫笑，古来征战几人回”是诗人的豪迈悲壮，是烈日下的断壁残垣，是老师们的家国情怀，是孩子们字不正腔不圆的吟诵。嘉峪关的鼓，鸣沙山的沙，平山湖大峡谷的骆驼是孩子们放下画笔的刹那，是他们肆意飞扬的青春。
作为主打陪伴的家长，十二天的旅程是十二分润物细无声的学习。当历史重现在遗迹，当故事重复在旅途，深感读万卷书，行万里路的真谛。西行的颠波见证了上至七旬，下到七岁一群人的努力。洪老师的努力是如数家珍，信手拈来的历史故事，是一次次“我给孩子们讲讲”的要求；冯校长的努力是历经数月，事无巨细的操持，黄老师的努力是深入浅出的传授，是看似一气呵成实则千锤百炼的线描；陈老师的努力是朗朗的诗词，威武的身材，是溢于言表的赤子之心；刘老师的努力是打磨至深夜的讲稿，是对孩子们画作精辟的评价，是甘当幕后的奉献；小陈老师的努力是古物今用的马踏飞燕，是穿越时空的设身处地；小墨老师的努力是放下了自己的画笔，拾起了对孩子们的启蒙和教育。孩子们的努力是在拥挤的栈道上，清晨的朝阳中，炎炎的烈日下的写生；是对线条，色彩和造型大胆的尝试；是嬉笑怒骂中打破语言、国家边界的友谊。家长的努力是拉布楞寺的氧气瓶，是深夜鸣沙山上的罐啤，是默默的尾随，是强装漫不经心的放手。四十三个人的努力成就了一次难以忘怀的旅行和十七本风格各异的画册。满江红的种子在几十年后必将长成苍天大树。

This trip to Gansu was definitely worth the hotel changing and long car rides. The time on the bus passed quicker when I had other people to talk to and food shared. The teachers told stories and taught us about the landmarks and artifacts we saw. Every single day, I got so much practice in sketching quickly in dark grottoes or painting with watercolor, something I don’t do often. Also, the food was really good.

暑假里我们全家参加了一个非常有特色的游学之旅。这个活动是教妹妹的画画的小墨老师带队。我们从天水的麦积山一路游到敦煌，内容安排得十二分的充实！每天在各个景点参观都会有专门的写生时间，而在大巴上赶路的空挡也都有老师们教授精心准备的历史及艺术课程，以及对前一天的写生作业讲评。
这是我们第一次体验旅游写生，发现这真的是完美组合！喜欢的风景画一画，就和他们就建立起了奇妙的联系，感觉不再是一个过客。以后旅行都应该这样安排！
印象特别深刻的是老师团队所具有的深厚文化底蕴和敬业精神！他们把厚重的历史文化和家国情怀深入浅出的讲给孩子们听，作为家长我们也受益非浅。而且经常晚上到旅馆之后，我们都休息了，老师们却还要熬夜备课准备第二天的学习内容。非常感谢他们对孩子们孜孜不倦的教导！
希望这么好的活动以后还能有机会再参加！再次谢谢小墨老师组织这么好的活动！一段难忘的时光！谢谢！

Traveling down the Hexi Passageway was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was a personally special experience, as I felt I managed to connect to my Chinese heritage in a way I hadn’t before. I walked in the steps of my ancestors, trailing the footprints of thousands before me to better understand my identity in the context of my artistry. Seeing the unfathomable intricacy of my creative predecessors on this route, I’ve understood that being an artist must come with a deep conviction of self and community. I’ve never been in an environment as feverish with the need to create as I had been on this trip. The artistic individuality of each of my peers struck an equal amount of awe as the earthly souvenirs we encountered. I met mentors and creatives that I would have never run across otherwise on this trip, and for that I am eternally thankful. In you all I see the future, in my sketchbook I have captured the present, which in turn was voiced by the knowledge and mystique of the past. I sincerely believe that, even decades later, I will still look back on this trip with genuine fondness. Thank you all, and I hope we can travel together again someday.

I feel that this art trip across the Silk Road deeply furthered my understanding of Chinese history in regards to the Silk Road, and also strengthened my intellectual grasp on different art forms. The teachers challenged me to venture outside of my comfort zone to bravely experiment with different styles of Chinese art and for that I'm profoundly thankful. Furthermore I feel that it was very well executed despite a few challenges faced while on the road. The lessons taught were thoroughly assembled and were not difficult to comprehend in Chinese.
From an educational perspective, this trip was very informative on how the silk road came to be and the challenges leading up to it. But from a personal perspective, this trip helped me bond and meet people, that I wouldn't be able to connect with anywhere else. And to this day I'm still in cahoots with those same students.
In conclusion I walked away from this trip with a much richer sense of Chinese culture and history but more importantly with a deep sense of camaraderie surrounding the friends I made during the trip.
Perchance maybe the real lessons learned along the silk road was just the friends we made along the way.

This summers trip to the Silk Road was extremely inspirational and taught me a lot about the history of china. Along the way I made many new friends and enjoyed each destination specially. Furthermore each teacher helped me improve my understanding of different art styles while also pushing me to try new things. During the free time we had on the bus the teachers made classes which explained our next destinations history or the Silk Road in general. It was very easy to comprehend and they did a wonderful job explaining each detail. They also planed out every thing extremely well making sure we had good meals and nice hotels so I am very grateful to have such nice teachers. While there was a lot of bus time it helped strengthen my relationship with the people around me. All in all this summers trip really helped me improve my art and it was super fun and educational.

这次河西走廊的艺术之旅，我最喜欢的三样事情：画各种各样的菩萨；七彩丹霞的日出写生还有和陈老师学古诗。
这次旅行我们游览很多石窟，也看到了形态各异的各种神佛雕塑和壁画。我很喜欢画各种各样的佛因为他们都长得慈眉善目，有一种很特别的美。
为了看七彩丹霞的日出，那天早上我很早很早起来，很困很累,但是当我看到太阳慢慢升起金色的阳光渐渐将远远近近的山渡上绚丽的金色，顿时觉得一切的努力都是值得的。在美丽的自然景色里创作真是一件美妙的事情，我尝试用丰富的线条和色彩表现我眼睛看到和心里感受到的感动。
整个写生之旅中另外一件让我最开心的事情就是我和陈老师学了三首古诗。这三首古诗都是抗击匈奴的大英雄表达他们保家卫国的雄心大志的诗。一开始学的时候我觉得诗读起来都很难。但是通过陈老师和我们解释诗歌背后的故事，再加上实地去了嘉峪关，玉门关，阳关，慢慢的，我开始能感受诗人写诗时候的心情，可以有感情的朗读这些诗最后能很流利地背诵。我感到有点小自豪！

This journey to China opened my mind and helped me embrace my Chinese heritage. Walking along the path treaded by Zhang Qian, Huo Qu Bing, Li Guang, and countless other ancestors awakened a deep sense of identity within me. As we explored fragment after fragment of history along the Hexi Corridor, they came together to form a sprawling map across space and time of the Silk Road.
At the foot of Maiji Mountian grottoes, I picked up a pen and sketchbook for the first time in months. Nervous but tingling with excitement as I slowly breathed life into a blank piece of paper, I was awed by the quiet majesty of the mountain, standing tall against centuries of wind, rain, and destruction. Unlike Dunhuang and many other renowned grottoes, The Maiji Mountain grottoes can be viewed both outside and inside. Three statues of Buddha carved on the surface of the mountain watch over people and its surroundings, while inside, lively depictions of scowling mountain Heavenly Kings, smiling bodhisattvas, and praying Buddhists adorn the passageways to the meticulously sculpted Buddhas. Visiting and sketching Maiji Mountain onsite was an extraordinary way to rediscover my art and an incredible start to a once-in-a-lifetime archeological art camp experience.
However beautifully the statues are carved, I could not have truly understood their meaning and significance without the help of our teachers. On the way to each destination, they told historical stories of ancient times, olden heroes, brave adventurers, and much more. They whisked us back in time and took us across vast distances, all in a couple of hours.
So, at the end of a long journey that I will never forget, I would like to thank everyone who made this possible, and I hope we travel together again.

夏天在河西走廊的一路西行，如果没有跟着朋友们和专业老师们，作为家长，实在是没有勇气安排的这么远的行程。我很庆幸，做了一个正确的选择。
像参加所有的营一样，每个人都要经历最开始的破冰时段。对于研学旅行中的各种适应也是不小的挑战：每天早起晚睡，在长途车里听讲课，吃饭要克服不适应西北饮食的习惯，需要找到朋友一起玩，临摹时在最短的时间内投入就到画画中…
然而，孩子们的适应能力是惊人的，也是让家长们觉得不可思议和欣慰地方。孩子们一起画画，一起看星星，互相鼓励，开心陪伴；他们很快就可以从容淡定的对待画画时被无数人围观和拍照的尴尬场面；也学会能够细心大胆的去发现那些被尘埃掩盖住的各种美好。我们不期望孩子可以很快就立刻理解千百年的历史遗迹的美妙和珍贵，但这次旅行一定是他们成长过程里很美丽的一段回忆。因为，他们已经在迫不及待的问：明年夏天咱们再一起去哪里研学呀？

回国的这趟旅行我学到了很多知识，了解了很多中国辉煌的历史。让我了解到祖国有多么的美丽和伟大。让我也感受到了几千年以前人们走在河西走廊上的情景。我在十二天中走过了以前几十年才能走完的一条伟大的路线。我这趟旅行也画了很多画儿，表现出来了河西走廊的伟大历史。我画画的时候我也会看见当年在走这条丝绸之路上面走的故人。我这次最高兴的还是见到了老朋友还结识了很多新朋友。并且还享受到了很多精彩的课程。这趟游学我的收获满满，是一次非常难得的学习机会。

This art program was an incredible experience that really made a difference in my life before high school. I had the opportunity to learn from some amazing art teachers who were not only talented but also caring and engaging. I made many friends who share my interests, and I loved sketching everything from mountains and Buddhas to ancient Chinese buildings. The long walks every day were a little challenging, but they were also pretty rewarding. Over the twelve-day trip, I dived into China’s rich culture—visiting historic sites, trying new foods (including some unexpected donkey meat), practicing my Chinese, and learning more about the country’s history. I have so many great memories from this trip and I can’t wait to do something like this again in the future.

这个夏天，我们一家四口非常荣幸地参加了纽约艺术空间的游学之旅，穿越了壮丽的河西走廊，从天水到敦煌，途经麦积山、炳灵寺、拉卜楞寺、七彩丹霞山、雅丹魔鬼城、莫高窟和鸣沙山等地。这段旅程不仅让我们饱览了无数壮丽的自然风光，也深入接触和学习了中国悠久的历史文化，特别是那些令人叹为观止的石窟、壁画和寺庙。
一路上，孩子们得到了黄老师、陈老师、小陈老师、洪爷爷和刘老师的悉心指导，他们不仅教导孩子们如何作画，更传授了丰富的历史知识，甚至还教诵了古诗。尤其让我们感动的是，Gabriel和Edouard本来对画画兴趣不大，但在旅途中，他们受到了其他小朋友的启发，以及老师们的鼓励，逐渐对艺术产生了浓厚的兴趣。尽管旅程的日程安排紧凑、体力消耗颇大，但当一切结束时，我们却感到意犹未尽，不舍与大家分别，也不舍得离开祖国这片壮丽的土地。孩子们在这一路上结下了深厚的友谊，我们也欣喜于看着他们在一起玩耍、画画的快乐时光。
我们深感幸运，能够在这次旅程中结识到这么多优秀的父母和孩子。感谢大家对我们这个“菜鸟之家”的包容与关爱，特别要感谢Melody和Ryan一路上辛苦的翻译。希望我们的友谊能够天长地久，也诚挚邀请大家有机会来巴黎做客。
最后，我们要特别感谢最亲爱的小墨，感谢她为这次行程付出的无数心血。感谢太后的远程指导，感谢洪爷爷亲自带领孩子们学习历史和绘画。小墨的用心我们都看在眼里，真的辛苦了！字字真心 这个夏天受益匪浅 要感谢你。
